have done this recently. my theory is that you're actually more productive when you work at home because at least for me, i know what i have to get done for the day. so if i know this while at home i'm more likely to try to get that stuff done quickly so i can "relax" for the rest of the day. at work, you know you're there til 5 no matter what so you're more likely to do tasks slowly and space them out until 5.
I guess it would be harder to get your work done if you were some weirdo kid with ADD who gets distracted easily.
i work from home occasionally, and i tend to be more productivelast time i ended up watching 6 or 7 eps of the sopranos during, which was pretty nice
"Son. This is why we are wildcats. Hard work, pride, the heart of this country. And if that's not enough for you, you can just move to California with your punk friends."
I would fire all of you given the chance.
either way, i do the bare minimum and then screw off the rest of the day. and screwing off the rest of the day is way better at home.
I imagine its pretty sweet being able to work in shorts/t-shirt and surf the web without looking over your shoulder. However, does it make it hard to get your work done? Too distracting? Discuss.
Varies by person. I've done both. Getting work done isn't a big problem, but staying at home all day is. Having somewhere to work gets the ball rolling on my day, making me more likely to do other crap than work too.
