How do you propose that an SEC team plays everyone in the SEC?  14 teams.  You play all 13 of them for your season?  That doesn't make a lot of sense.

Maybe instead of taking a week off to play an FCS school in the middle of November you play a 9th conference game like the big boys do.

Could you guys imagine how awful some of these SEC schedules might become if Saban leaves Alabama? It's a house of cards the way they schedule right now. They really need to add that 9th game.

Someone, say, like North Dakota State perhaps?  ;)

There is a lot of talk down here around a 9th conference game.  I think the main sticking point is the money that would be lost from scheduling an every other year, away game.  Everyone schedules a team that comes to their house.

There is also a lot of talk about the traditional opponents.  Auburn and Georgia is huge, but playing Georgia every year is a lot tougher for Auburn, than say LSU having to play Arkansas in most years.

Also, how in the hell can the KState fanbase make fun of ANY other school for their out of conference scheduling?  Seriously, your coach and school have one hell of a rep for terrible OOC scheduling.  North Dakota State?  :Woot:  Louisiana?  UMass?  2014?  Stephen F Austin?  UTEP?  AUBURN?!?!

Our OOC was pretty week this year, but all of them seem to be bowl eligible (not sure about W. Carolina, ouch).

That is another reason why 14 team conferences will never work. Mizzou benefitted greatly by avoiding the 3 top teams in the conference, and every team only plays 57% of the league. 12 should be the absolute max for a conference.

Ding ding ding! Winner winner chicken dinner!

Any conference that takes 12 years to circuit through and play at every venue isn't really a conference anymore. It's just an association of 14 teams

If we cut it down to 12 teams, what would you guys talk about all day?

Out-of-conference isn't the problem.

If cut it down to 10 by getting rid of Kentucky, Missouri, Ole Miss, and MSU, we would all be talking about how great the SEC is, probably.

Honestly, if you asked the majority of SEC fans which four schools they would like to see go just based off of their fans, the answer would be...

Tennessee, Tennessee, Tennessee and Tennessee (they're hated by all).

Followed by Vandy (never done anything for the conference), Mizzou (trip to the CG aside, the fans didn't want them from the beginning) and a tie for last between A&M (yell leaders, really?) and Arkansas (Beliema, or whatever his name is, is getting a LOT of hate already)

Serious question... How many OOC road games has Auburn played in the last 15 years? Five? Six?

It really takes 12 years to play at every venue in the league? That's dumb.

Yeah, I'm pretty calm actually. It's just funny to me that so many SEC fans just buy into the "SEC, SEC, SEC!!!" nonsense. I'm not going to get into an interrnet argument, my point has already been made by the last dozen posts from other peeople.

College football is no longer anything but a business, and uneducated, foaming-at-the-mouth SEC fans make the business a great deal of money.

Hey Big 12 dorks, when the SEC doesn't curb stomp us in the Cotton Bowl maybe then we can get butthurt about how they get more hype than us? We've won ONE Cotton Bowl in the past 10 years. One. And that only happened because Missouri should have been in the BCS and, well you know.

Auburn isn't even the best team in their own state yet they're playing in the CCG?

Couldn't that be said about Kansas State and Kansas in basketball last year in Kansas City?

Are you comparing a tournament to a regular season?

Just kick Kentucky, Ole Miss, and MSU out of the conference.

Kentucky's here so we can talk smack about basketball and so Cal can keep compliance levels consistent with the football programs.

Ole Miss is only allowed in because of the Grove and their hot women.  :fatty:

MSU sticks around because that is how you judge your season, if you lose to them, you truly suck.  That and their fans are so nice, they know they suck but they still love their team so very, very much.
Are they actually that good looking?

My issue with the SEC is that 7 of 8 conference games are the same, year after year.  Essentially, the SEC will always claim 4 really good teams.  The top 2 in the east will never play the top 2 in the west, short of a championship game.  If they did, one team wouldn't finish in their top 2.  The downside for the SEC is that the championship game has usually been an elimination game for a BCS spot as it will be for the playoffs too.

Shouldn't Missouri be throwing hissy fits and crying into their I-70 porn brochures that they were "punished" by playing in their league championship game and how the SEC is a a shitty league because of it?  they ended up in the same place (cotton) both times.
