We always have beer at my office but hardly anyone ever drinks it. Like, I'd rather just leave and drink beer with friends or at home.

Well yeah people don't really just go there to hangout, but for a thursday afternoon meeting? Sure, I'll have a delicious refreshment.

no one has beer at Thursday afternoon meetings at my office. So I suppose I could have a drink, but I'd probably be the only one.

My last employer had management meetings thurs from like 4-5:30 or so. They always had beers then.

Like rusty, I don't really see the appeal

My office has lots of eliteness and none of its alcohol or free food related. They treat their employees amazingly well.

The R&D lab is constantly putting out fresh baked breads, brownies, cookies, bagels, and other baked goods. Sometimes it's required we spend 30 mins tasting and evaluating them. Pretty elite IMO

Casual dress, come and go as you please, not really sure who your boss is or if you even have one, no performance reviews, never repercussions for anything you say no matter how inappropriate, the junkiest of junk food provided at least every other week super crazy coworkers. It's so weird.
