A delightful neighborhood bar that is friendly

For you French food lovers, this hidden gem is delicious. And you're even served by a snooty waiter.   :D

I always feel like you and our mutual friend are always there, but I still haven't met you.

Maybe we have and just don't know it? :ck:

Antons steak and fish tacos have been great. Lots of steak options. I think they just changed chefs again.

Wine by the carafe was a good deal and not crap wine.

colby garrelts finally won his james beard award last night.
good for him and good luck at his new joint Rye out south in Mission Farms.  That space has seemed to turnover pretty fast even with the great patio it has.  I love that they Little Apple red on tap even if it doesn't do it for the snobbiest of beer snobs.

Going here tonight? Suggestions? I was thinking fried chicken but they also have Trout  :lick:
deviled eggs, butcher board, smoked brisket burnt ends (i haven't had their bbq).  the chicken was good, but it was "just" fried chicken and imo lacked seasoning.  i prefer more cayenne than most places want to give me.
Can confirm on the fried chicken, it was a good thing they had the house made hot sauce on the table to make it interesting.

My wife had a pulled pork sandwich that was pretty damn good.

The only thing I sort of remember was walking downstairs into another dimension of some sort.

Maybe try and avoid the stairs.

do you remember the fish tanks?
This seems familiar.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

Nice?
Well I don't want to scar the wife and kids.  Please don't suggest anything that would put our lives in danger.

Kid friendly?
Kids are well behaved and have come through with shining colors in the past.  So ritzy places are in play here.

Type of food?
Anything goes.

I'll take downtown type places angle:

- Antons (mentioned here above many times)
- Jacobson (very nice patio and different food items)
- Lidias (Italian)
- Hickoks - River Market, seems like it would be good for kids
- Harrys Country Club - Nice patio and food
- Gates...the one on Main and 31st
- Tannin - wine bar with pretty good food.
- Majestic or Nicas for brunch

(PRO TIP**) I'll probably take clams recommendation, but you can still put in suggestions. I may take yours.
