I've been to some where some beers I wouldn't have again, but I always find plenty I really enjoy.

it's more of a "i guess i don't like this type of beer" but i never assume the brewery was bad at making it.

i've been to river bluff, and will 2nd their beer sucks.  like bottom couple in KC.

Favorites include BKS, Alma Mader, Strange Days, Friction, Discourse.

Used to like Casual Animal mostly because of location/vibes/logo, but their beers are mid.

This is basically my exact opinion.

Alma Mader has the best beer in KC and it isn't even close IMO. Most of the others are just OK and that's perfectly fine with me as long as the place is fun.

yeah i am pretty much aligned here. alma mader, BKS, double shift, torn label never let me down. strange days got a new brewmaster a few years ago and turned that place around big time.

Alma Mader must be otherworldly to make a statement like this. BKS is by far the best brewery I've been to in KC. Followed by City Barrel, probably

I've only been to BKS twice and i put it in the "above average" category. I've just never had anything there that is great. Their beers are def better than most of the others in my list, but Alma beers are better imo. It's also a type thing with me. Like, all breweries make 7 version of various IPAs that all basically taste the same. Don't get me wrong, I love a lot of them, but I like different types of beers. Alma is one of the only breweries that makes Pilsners and they are always great.

As others have said Casual Animal has a great building/atmosphere but their beer is super mid.

My new fav brewery is fields and ivy in LFK, great beer that finally started getting sold here in KC in the past year.

I just love their double roller IPA, honestly haven't tried that many of their other beers because I just get that....Double IPA at 8% and DELICIOUS.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

Love KC Bier, but I understand that you may not like it if you're a serious beer drinker who is focused on a serious craft beer environment.

yeah "KIDS DON'T BELONG WITHIN 1000 FT OF A BREWERY" or whatever is crazy. it's like get a life man this is the real world.

and furthermore kids being around adults enjoying alcohol in a safe and normal environment seems like a good thing too. just to provide an example of how to consume alcohol as opposed to only being around T-totalers or sloppy relatives at a wedding  :dunno:

Umm I just don't like their parents letting them act like fools, I agree it's healthy for them to be around booze being enjoyed responsibly.
