I dislike kcbc. Too many kids and not a fan of their beers. Can't argue with their success though

Lots of joco’ers enjoy the one in Lenexa. Can’t think of the name. Haven’t been

limitless location does suck, but they are building a new spot with a patio off 95th, so that's cool

I’m gonna have a little time in KC next week, where should I eat that is new or great?

What type of food?  Family?
Any type of food. I don’t think there is really any variety of restaurant that I can’t get a version of here, so just looking for good. Could be family involved but likely not.

These are in my heavy rotation rn
Vietnam Cafe
Happy Gillis - breakfast lunch limited days rn
Ponaks (for the margs only really but I have my go to food items)
Novel -
Fox & Pearl
Il Lazzarone
La Bodega
Extra Virgin (Thursday Rose night especially)
City Barrel
Barami Thai
Jun's sushi
Farmhouse
Slaps

Nothing new has really popped up due to the plague and all.  Canary is new and hear good things but I haven't been.

Wow.  I have been to all those and canary

Just hammered a burger at Brewer's Kitchen, the Prohibition. 8.5/10. Fries 8/10, a bit overseasoned, but bite was on point. Had never heard of the place before today.

Went to a couple that weren’t on anyone’s list but the Philly at Maloney’s was passable, and the Old OP Peanut had some salty fried pickles. Plus lots of beers

Yes I like Jun's.  Last time I sat back in the "Party Room" and had to take off the shoes.  It was the works.

do you have to request sitting there? was not aware of its existence until we were seated at our 'normal' table and could see all the people having a good ass time with their shoes off. next time!

You are not a true Kansas Citian until you’ve had these 10 iconic restaurant dishes
.....
KITTY’S CAFE, TENDERLOIN
The cafe has been Asian-owned since it was founded in 1951 by a Japanese American couple, Paul and Kitty Kawakami, who had been confined to a U.S. internment camp out West during World War II, although they were born in the U.S.

Their restaurant quickly gained a following for its tenderloins — three thin pieces deep-fried in tempura batter, and topped with lettuce, pickles and a bit of house-made hot sauce.

Once a six-stool diner, Kitty’s Cafe is now to-go and cash only.

i took the kc restaurants suggestion and tried out chef j bbq saturday.  went with brisket, pulled pork, ribs, beans and cheesy corn.  brisket and ribs were pretty solid, cheesy corn was very interesting, covered in parmesan, rub seasoning and hot sauce.  pretty cool spot.

Totally failed at this, it was a good day at Bryant’s when I went, though.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.
