Mrs. Wacky and I walked to Bier Station for the first time today. Cool concept. We enjoyed our time, but I don't understand this serve yourself trend of micro breweries. Don't get mad at me KCFD, but I'd much rather sit and get served vs walking in and having the staff stare at me until I head up to the bar. It's strange to me, but I can adjust.

At Double shift and Bier Station at least 5-10 minutes. More awkward at BS, because we were the only customers in the joint to start with. Bier Company does it too. I guess it makes sense, just need someone to guide me, when I enter these joints for the first time.

Bier Station is awesome and I like to decide when I want to order another beer rather than being asked if I need another when I still have 2/3rds of my current one

Lots of restaurants, many discussed in this blog thread. I dunno, maybe I get the overeager servers. Bier Station is good though, so

Every single brewery in town does it this way. Keeps my costs down, which keeps beer costs down. If I had to have servers that serviced tables I'd probably have to double my staff.

Also there are huge signs in my place (and bier station) that explain the order at the bar concept.
