Maybe I was wrong in my example because sausage gravy is on the menu. The menu contains all acceptable raw materials with which to craft new dishes.

asking the chef to craft a new dish is not acceptable. asking the waiter to squirt sauce out of a bottle is acceptable. are you being obtuse or are j-straunts different?

The whole egg thing kinda trumps that argument tho. He had the product in front of him. Just being a snob. I'm sure they have gravy there too fwiw

Of course it's acceptable that's where all the new foods come from that get named after the person that ordered it.

Absolutely no menu alterations in Japan tho.

Wahoo's A+ hashbrown omelette was one such creation (not me) and now it's a menu item.

I think the egg situ is a bit of a pickle... On one hand I agree that scrambled would be the proper way to serve an egg on a bsand but I personally would never ask to sub that.

Rule of thumb: subtractions and reasonable additions are OK,  substitutions are kinda dicky

and then when you go there and order it you can create the Wacky waving arm flailing inflatable tube meat sandwich

the chicken fried steak at strouds is incredible

most really nice places say no substitutions, eat it this way or gtfo

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

If you want no tomato at McDonalds or buffalo sauce on the side for your kickin' chicken fingers at Chili's, by all means.  I wouldn't go to a decent restaurant and do that tho.

I would say no onions at a 5* restaurant 24/7/365 and never look back. Some of you are over thinking this whole thing.

That's fine. But chopping up a thousand mini onions and throwing them in my dish isn't talent to me. It's a terrorist attack on my taste buds.

I literally have two moves guys. Side of ranch for my fries and no onions on my stuff. I'm sure beer kitchen isn't spitting in my food for these crazy demands.

That would be mrs. wacky's thing, because she's not a fan of the yolk. Not mine. I love that crap!

Mocat, Google Image bacon egg and cheese. There are like a million scrambled eggs between bread. I really don't get your objection here
