Anyone try Dempsey's yet, in Westport? It's not bad. We went there a couple of Sundays ago. It's a burger joint and I guess it started in Squawkville.
Where is it?

Went to char bar for the first time on Saturday.  (I know I'm behind the times) food was ok. Average BBQ.

The hostess said it was an hour wait, so we got drinks and an app at the bar. Then 5 min later our table was ready, I told the waitress we had an app coming from the bar and she was furious. Like barely served us the rest of the night. Guess she was mad she didn't get it on her ticket? Very odd.
Their service has always been really shitty. I sat at the bar there with Ms. Wacky for our first time and I asked for extra jalapenos or something (not oddly strange) and the bartender smirked and said something under his breath to his coworker. I have no clue what's up with the hipster vibe at char bar, but their food is too average for them to act like that. Sweet patio tho.

Yes, Dempsey's is where blanc use to be, right by californos.
V weird. Probably won't go back. Too many good BBQ places to visit to deal with that.

Will have to check it out.

Was not aware that was a prerequisite. Would not change the fact that their employees are assholes

The Dempsey's here in Wichita is average at best. It is in a Weird little hipster area called Clifton square. Parking is atrocious. Much better burger options around.

Ms. Wacky just reminded me. I asked if they could change one of the TV's from some 3rd world country sport, to march madness. And somehow, our hipster bartender was super annoyed by the request. Like I was the biggest weirdo in the world. I believe it was a Sunday.

This happened to me too!!! They had some random college FB game on and a lot of people wanted to watch the Cubs. They didn't change it the entire time we r were there. Was very strange, and a lot of people left because of it.

Hey, man! We never tried that burnt end heaven tho! Maybe it's one of those restaurants that means to treat you like crap and its part of the experience and stuff!

Daris, if you have a bad experience somewhere, you should definitely blog about it. It will help your friends and family from making bad decisions in love life.

I usually don't do online reviews, I'd rather people form their own opinion. Maybe I just had a bad server, I don't think that warrants a negative review for the whole world to see. I wouldn't think posting something in an obscure thread on a ksu message board would be a very public account of my experience. Maybe I'm wrong.

Plus, after running an establishment for a few months, I've found a lot of the stuff that's said is just lies like you said. People trying to get something free etc etc...

On a flight back to the City of Fountains tonight.  You know what that means folks, tomorrow is JPep's time.  I'll let you all know how it goes (although, do I really even need to?).

I'd like that!  Weekends in KC are generally whirlwinds with family and stuff, but we'll see!

My favorite place in KC. I get the Bravo hamburger every time, with sweet potato fries.

crispy prosciutto, maytag blue cheese, fontina, sun-dried tomato relish, baby arugula & roasted garlic aioli on brioche
