Emphatically call me stupid if I'm wrong, but isn't the Smokey Joe just the 'waste' trimmings from the burnt end chopping block swept together and sold as a sandwich?

Ok Joe's beans are not bbq beans, they're like weird western Kansas family reunion at the park shelter beans that aunt Colleen brought that nobody eats

jeez mocat, you can describe a bean like no other.  v good descripto

ok joes ribs are ok imo.  they're like the ribs your best friend jeffrey cooks in the oven after reading a rib recipe on allrecipes.com and then brings to a bingo parlor for old people to eat.  (mocat thoughts on my rib descripto?)

jeffrey knows ribs. anytime jeffrey is like "hey mocat i'm doing ribs tonight UDIGG?" im like "oh, 100%. jeffrey i'll be right over"

you know what OK Joe's onion rings are like? they're like your old grandma Hazel (now deceased, rip) used to make them in the 1950's norman rockwell kitchen she used to have in Rochester, MN, and she'd fix you up a snack of onion rings and a milkshake in her giant chrome kitchenaid mixer blender thingie that looks like it was made from scrap metal from the Enola Gay

Thoughts on LC's BBQ?  Had it for the first time a few months ago, it was pretty good, they were out of burnt ends though, which i heard they were good at.  Is this true?

Man, everyone seems to like burnt ends way more than me. Like at Bryant's they are fine, but they are soaked in their gross rich and spicy sauce, and for some reason they seem to be the most popular thing there. At OK Joes, they are the definition of OK. I just don't get it.
:adios:

Q39 is pretty dope

it's great.  what did you get?

it was catered to my office last week. heres my b-down:

chicken- meh. i dont really like smoked chicken so my opinion here isnt reliable.
ribs- pretty darn tootin' good. not the best ribs ive ever had, but enjoyable. pulled off the bone but didnt fall off. just the way i like em!
brisket- the best item. very lean, which i like. not over-salted and plenty juicy. threw it on a bun with some of their spicy sauce. yum.
sausage- i love smoked sausage and this stuff was amazing when paired with their spicy sauce. lots of kick and plenty of bold flavors.
beans- decent. better than oklahoma j's but not by much.
slaw- had some really good apples in it. dont judge a Q place by the slaw, but i went back for this stuff.

have no idea what their menu looks like. its by westport off SW t-way, i believe. clams?
I think what my friend Mitch is trying to say is that true love is blind.

Huh. Weird. It's on 39th street. That's too far for 'Clams, so that's why I never assumed it.  :shakesfist:

i've heard that Q39 is good, but the meat doesn't really have much smoke flavor, is this true or do I need to unfriend someone for telling me this?

it was flavorful but it wasnt super smokey. idk... hard to judge based on catered Q. i think it was pretty good.

they have kind of a build your own sandwich thing at Q39. i do burnt ends + sausage (which is exactly what the Jon Russell sandwich is) and it's the best combo of meats that money can buy, imo
