No. Why would anyone do that? This is America ya hippie.

USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA

I'll probably get one of those huge rough ridin' Harleys and take the mufflers and the carburetor off and ride around on Harley day in a cloud of smoke while deafening people and staring you down just to spite this post.

(p.s. what do you look like?)

Amen ... Buy a Harley or Indian and stop giving a eff what people think.

All of the electric scooter, mower and Prius owners can go eff a watermelon.  America is a much better place when we are burning the crap out of dead dinosaurs.

When I change the oil in anything, I use the waste oil as weed killer in fence rows just to piss off Al Gore and his rough ridin' Eco-Nazis.

Because nothing says "I don't care about my image" like buying a Harley.

I have an SV650 back home in OP and love it. We have a very tortured relationship.

Has anyone here driven one of these?  Do motorcycle people make fun of these?

I'm sure they do, but I think normal people make fun of motorcycle people enough to balance it out.

Have you ever seen one on the road? I haven't. I'm not sure anybody actually buys them.

I have seen a handful on the road but have yet to come across somebody arriving/about to leave in a parking lot so I can ask what it is like to ride one.

I see them pretty often now.

If I got a bike, this is what I would want.  Looks like it would be the best bike to text/tweet on and still be able to drive.   :dunno:

I like the idea of not having to pay as much attention.

yeah, it appears to combine a lot of the negatives of the two types of vehicles with only a few of the positives

pros
  • People with poor balance don't have to worry about falling over.
  • Great gas mileage.
  • Probably makes you feel like you are going really fast.

cons
  • It's not any safer than riding a motorcycle.
  • It doesn't look like it handles as well as a motorcycle.
  • You can't have thin skin because biker dorks will make fun of you.
  • You will still need to own a car if you don't like the idea of freezing your balls off in the winter or getting soaked whenever it rains.

if someone said, "hey, ok_cat, you have to be a stupid jackass hillbilly and buy a motorcycle" then I'd buy this thing.

I occasionally get really amped about wanting a motorcycle then read a story or hear an anecdote of injury and death and puss out instantly. This probably happens 2 or 3 times a year

The don't call them "donorcycles" for nothing.

Pros outweigh the cons, though. Literally, all you have to say to a 10/10 supermodel is, "Look baby girl, I'm thinking about getting a motorcycle...". Before you finish your sentence, she cuts you off and is already naked. Instant game, fellas.

If that's true, then why do you need to buy one?
