The upgrades to AFH were done to satisfy Bill Self and help with maintaining recruiting at a high level.

Well that was pretty stupid considering Self's going to be bolting for the NBA anyday now.

this is lawrence high schools track. i mean hell i would have ksu run here for a year if it meant a better football stadium. honestly minus the bleachers there isnt that big of a difference

Could you imagine trying to recruit to a program that had to use high school facilities?  KU is coming off of a national championship in track & field... they're trying to build off of that momentum.  I know you only care about football, and that's fine, but some people enjoy when an athletic department is successful in multiple sports.

Yeah, yeah, I get that.  I'm just wondering why it took this long to even start? I mean, you just got locker rooms and practice fields within the last few years.  Kstate built locker rooms like 25 years ago. :dunno:

Well, that, and some incredible memories and experiences during my days at KU (including a 12-1 Orange Bowl season and a national championship).

ku is trying to do something that very few schools can pull off and that is to be competitive in football and basketball.  big donors who are used to writing checks towards basketball are being asked to now consider football.  that's difficult to do when your football team hasn't won a conference game this decade.  the good news for hawk fans is that if anyone can pull this fundraising feat off, it's a k-stater.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

KU is paying $1.3 million per year to lease a track???   Pffffffft, rofl

OMG, who's the donor, fritzel to Ku or Ku to fritzel???

Just when you think they couldn't be anymore foolish with what little money they have, they, along with the taxpayers of Lawrence (who I assume are footing the bill for the improvements) get conned by one of their largest "donors".

Fun fact. See the baseball field? See the scoreboard? I pitched for the Lawrence Raiders (legion ball) my last summer before K-State. I was pitching and gave up a home run that smashed out the lights in the bottom of the 3rd inning box. I later saw it on the news that night on ch. 6 with me shaking my head like  :dunno: <---

I would think our sweet spot is probably 55-60k, maybe a few more.  I think seat backs would be cool, too.  I am not sure how much that increases the footprint.  It just seems like there isn't enough room between rows in the current configuration.

Were you at K-State when KU rushed the field against Iowa State?

The only two schools I've ever seen rush a playing surface against ISU: Iowa and Kansas.
