I've always been a flip flops guy but I'm gonna give boat shoes a shot.  going sockless seems dangerous in leather though.  anybody use these little invisible socks?

You should get a lighter color depending on how tan you are.

I have invisble socks.  They don't stay put a lot of the time, but having your top half of foot covered is good enough, won't make your shoe all sweaty and smelly.  Once shoe is broken in, won't hurt your heel.

I liked Fanning's Puma suggestion. I used to wear them all the time. I haven't owned a pair for a while now, but I'm sure they are still very comfortable shoes.
