it's great in that it's the place with the cheapest beers i know of in at least a 1.5 mile radius, maybe larger.

With the possible exception of nearby Rossi's and CND Gyros, Snickers is about as low-brow as you'll find in the 60610 zip code.

The "this place sucks ripe D it's so fun" isn't really fun.  #lifehack

hard to believe bill rough ridin' rancic's resto is better than tony mantuano's (spiaggia) river roast, but i can't argue with some of your other reviews (and i haven't tried river roast yet).

old town ale house is a real hoot, as they say. think about all the second city guys and gals that drank there.

anyway, hope you had a good time here.

To be fair I was super hung over and went to River Roast for brunch where for some reason they thought loud music was a good idea for brunch....but our dishes were pretty meh.  The setting looked awesome along the river for spring-fall hanging out.

I had River Roast for lunch back in September or so and wasn't terribly impressed, but it is a great setting

I ate at Snickers. Some sort of pita. Was okay, but judgement was slightly clouded due to the enormous boner I had waiting to pak with 8mp and Dlew.

In certain areas of Chicago there are really tall buildings.

go to matchbox.

Mrs. wELLsculpted brows used to sling drinks at the Silver Palm and occasionally Match Box.

Headed up this weekend, and thinking about taking one day to go check out the northern suburbs (Mrs. wELLsculptedbrows is also a huge Home Alone fan and has never been by the McCallister house). Anybody have any Winnetka/Wilmette/Evanston recommendos? Anyone been to the Block Museum at Northwestern? Baha'i House of Worship?

baha'i house of worship is amazing, though don't know if i've ever been there in the winter. should be warm-ish this weekend, though. if you have a car, drive up sheridan ave. very ravine-y and small hill-y. not the usual chicago topography.

there's a great jewish deli over the edens at waukegan road called max n' benny's; otherwise, can't think of a reason to go to the north shore in winter. evanston excepted-- it's an honorary chicago neighborhood and usually great (maybe a n'western campus tour)?

oh, new brewery in evanston called temperance. eh, it's ok. new distillery in evanston called few. it's really good. lots of good new resto's in evanston, too.

chicago people - if i'm going to royals-cubs on may 30, should me and a buddy get tickets for inside the stadium, or do a rooftop all you can eat/drink deal?

also, if we were to to do a rooftop deal, which ones can/should we do and not be blocked by the new video boards?

well then it's up to you.  rooftop tickets are going to be quite a bit more expensive, but if that's not a problem then you might as well try out the new experience.
