I haven't done yoga in a while guys. I really like it, but it's so early in the morning.

Yoga is pretty awesome. I think it's better at night actually. It makes me sleepy sometimes.

I'd prefer to do it at night, too, but it just doesn't work for me.

I've done it at home following the p90x yoga video before. I did it with my girlfriend so it didn't feel as weird but it works and the routine is pretty good.

you should do it with a real teacher. videos blow.

I should have elaborated - there are so many different styles and teaching methods that it's difficult to put it all under one umbrella. I've had some very gentle classes, some that left me sore for days, some that made me sweat like crazy and get my heart rate way up, etc. And different teachers have different ways to challenge you in ways that you would never realize were possible in even the most basic poses. The teacher really makes all the difference.

I just tore a callous on one hand and gave myself a blood blister on the other deadlifting. I hate hook grip and I hate today.

I just go alternating grip cuz yeah, hook grip sucks.

because back injuries, and I like my bicep tendons. eff mixed grip.

Had this discussion today with someone. You should always work overhand grip for multiple reasons. Its the best

what is everyones thoughts on alternating running/lifting during a workout. I like running like 5 minutes at a decent pace, then going and doing two or three lifts while my heart rate is up, then running another 5 minutes, then lifting again, then running again. am I getting anything out of this more than just running for 15 or 20 minutes then doing all the lifting? maybe I lift too light because I feel like my heart rate isn't always up high enough.

:impatient:

I like doing supersets with minimal rest time. If I'm running it's probably sprinting up a rough ridin' hill then being done because running blows.

Also you probably are lifting too light if you are constantly running back and forth from weights to a treadmill, if you are worried about your heart rate just do super or tri-sets with minimal rest in between. For example sometimes I'll do something like dumbell presses, chinups and rows all one after another with no rest. If you do that your heart rate will be jacked. Save the running for the warmup if you still want to run.

Well my gym has a 200 M track around it the weights so it's actually very easy. I hate treadmills, they give me shin splints. Yeah, I usually try to do opposite muscle groups in two lifts and then go run. Generally I'm trying to lose weight and the lifting is just burning calories without running because yeah running sucks.

I think you're missing out on strength and size gains by running between sets. You need recovery. It's not a bad thing.

If you want to lose weight (fat), fix your diet.

If you count calories, good beer is like Putin to your body's Crimea.
