I run 1.25 miles every morning before work. but, the furthest I've ever run in my life nonstop is 2 miles. weird huh. yep, very weird.

Kinda weird but not really. I very rarely run that long. 1.25 before work seems about right.

Ha. Are you rocking the Paleo thing? Works for me. Nothing wrong with natural foods. Wheat farming buddies get a little pissy when you tell them bread is poison but can't please everyone. :)

I've done everything at some point. I did gluten free for a few months before I decided it wasn't for me.
Bleh. I couldn't do gluten free. GF beer sucks ass and I like beer.

I don't know what you'd call my diet. Paleo-ish (meats, veggies, nuts), limited dairy (butter, some cheese), very little bread (who can say No to a good yeast roll at dinner?), and quite a bit of ethnic cuisine (Thai, Japanese - both usually include rice). Whatevs. It works for me.

Why so little dairy?

I have been intermittent fasting for the last month. If anyone wants to try some craziness give that a shot.

Why not? It doesn't really add anything to my diet that I don't get elsewhere. It also adds sugar. I try to stay around 200g for the day.

Fair enough man. If it works for you.

I've never been disciplined enough to do this. I know a lot of people who have had great results doing it, though.

I started a thread about this a while ago. I didn't do it long enough to see any results. I lost a bunch of weight recently by doing very, very minimal carbs, drinking only once a week, and fasting once a week. Now I'm training for a weight lifting competition so I eat carbs, but only after workouts. Basically a  lazy man's version of carb backloading.

I've talked a couple friends into doing it. Not sure how miserable they are though. Personally it works for me.

Sweet. I start getting really confused and annoyed when I get really into the nutrition side so I just try to keep it simple. Obviously if you're training for a strength competition you're gonna need carbs. I do the 16 hour fast/8 hour eating window every day during the week.

I like the window of eating but I go 14/10. Works great for me. Last meal around 6pm. First meal around 8am after my workout.

Drinking once a week is my weight loss trick. I love to have a couple of pints with dinner while traveling for biz. It sure does add up on my waistline. I've dropped three pounds this week - no travel and a six pack spread over the last two Saturdays. I need to be more disciplined while traveling.

What kind of weightlifting comp?

It's a bit of a drive for me from Kentucky. My gym is only twenty minutes from the house.
