Has anyone else taken a break from running only to come back and find that their trainers are too small? I have never had this happen before but when I got back from vacation my running shoes were suddenly too small after not being worn for 2 weeks. The guy at the running store said it can happen. I was due for a fresh pain of running shoes but it was really weird.

Down 50 lbs since April.  Just now starting a workout routine with weights.  Looking to drop another 50 or 60 lbs of fat and gain some muscle.  No booze and fairly strict keto/carnivore diet seems to be the ticket.....plus making sure your hormones are right if you are old like me.

My weight fluctuates about 10 lbs in two week cycles and the place I feel it each time is in my shoes/sandals

Have you re-laced them?

Yeah. I re- laced them, made sure the insoles were placed correctly. I think I actually lost wt on vacation b/c I was walking everywhere and drinking less alcohol. I didn't have any apparent swelling it my feet. Got a new pair of Altra's  (instead of the usual Brooks) that seem to fit great so far (after a 5K run on the treadmill).

i’ve lost twenty pounds without PED but can’t seem to take it to the next level, i’d like to get to 25 lbs.

i’m probably dealing with the LOMBARDI effect.

Down 59 pounds since starting.  Started weight training about 4 weeks ago and I think that has slowed down the weight loss a little bit due to gain in muscle mass.  Still booze drink free as well.  (except with sparking water)

One thing about this is your body comp will change more than the scale and so looking at the scale at a certain point starts to become counter productive if you continue to train and your goal is not solely a number.

Indeed, I am looking at a goal weight based on where I was at as I left college and was ripped.  If I only drop 20 more and am ripped again, I will be extremely pleased.

That’s awesome to hear, Mike!
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

Guys, I got a couple of pairs of exercise shorts from this company called Ten Thousand that I heard about on a podcast a few months ago. They feel awesome. May be more information than anyone wanted but I would recommend the 7" tactical short with liner:

tenthousand.cc
these shorts are still great

Has anyone heard of or done one of these things? This one was called "The Eternal Damnation Backyard" at Wilson Lake near Sylvan Grove, KS last spring. Basically, you start at 8AM and have to run a four mile loop every hour on the hour. You can rest and hydrate/fuel from the time you finish the loop until the next loop starts. If you don't finish a loop within the hour, you are eliminated from the competition. This year's winner did 125 miles (something like 31 loops if I'm doing the math right).

yikes. no kidding. I've heard of the 4/4/48 where you run 4 miles every 4 hours for 48 hours. At least mine has a time limit.

It’s obviously satisfying to reach new lift totals and strength goals in the gym.

But imo even more satisfying is seeing what once was a significant milestone for you, say a 315 squat, become a warmup or ramp up set then move farther and farther down that pyramid.
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.
