It’s obviously satisfying to reach new lift totals and strength goals in the gym.

But imo even more satisfying is seeing what once was a significant milestone for you, say a 315 squat, become a warmup or ramp up set then move farther and farther down that pyramid.
xpost some stud thing thread.

Has anyone heard of or done one of these things? This one was called "The Eternal Damnation Backyard" at Wilson Lake near Sylvan Grove, KS last spring. Basically, you start at 8AM and have to run a four mile loop every hour on the hour. You can rest and hydrate/fuel from the time you finish the loop until the next loop starts. If you don't finish a loop within the hour, you are eliminated from the competition. This year's winner did 125 miles (something like 31 loops if I'm doing the math right).

Fun fact.  Backyard ultra loops are 4-1/6 miles so that 24 hours will equal 100 miles. A buddy and I have talked about doing it on our own sometime.  See if we can get 12 hours in or something.

That running thing sounds horrible.
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

Depending on the weather and running surface, I'm pretty certain I could finish two loops, maybe three. I think four would be out of the question.

I just heard about these races yesterday in this thread and I really don't understand the sleep deprivation element of these. Makes it seem extra unhealthy.

I'm not a runner so i'll never do it, but the 4/4/48 intrigues me just because it's something to accomplish/finish. The other one just sounds miserable.

I guess the world record for Backyard Ultra is 108 hrs. This is really insane:

I like them because I'm not fast, but I can be stubborn.  I haven't been consistent about training enough to do one though.

I know there was a leaky hourglass one in Missouri a month or so ago that starts at an hour and the next lap is 59 minutes and so on.

Sounds a bit like the Barkley Marathons.

I think the same guy invented or is involved with both events.

Is there a better song than "Burnin' Alive" by AC/DC for the final minutes of a run or workout? If so, I want someone to tell me what it is.

Not sure where to put this but I just got the Stelo CGM that came out a few weeks ago.  First non prescription CGM on the market. Have been wanting to see which foods spike my blood sugar so this will be a fun experiment.

I lifted for the first time in forever yesterday and then did the rowing machine after that. I had a massage last night but I feel like I got hit by a truck today. My entire body is sore. Hoping to get back into a routine.
