What kind of rower? Would you recommend? Seeing those fancy ones and considering if it would be better than a peloton.

I bought a cheap one off amazon to see if I would like it. It was a $350 Sunny air/magnetic. The monitor doesn’t do the calories/distance right, but I don’t want to pack it up and exchange it just for that. I can’t run as much as I’d like because my calves/shins hurt and then just lock up, so I use my treadmill and watch an episode of something like Brooklyn 99 and when I’m done I switch to the rower.
I like the rower. It’s pretty amazing how quickly you can build up strength (increase resistance) and endurance on it. I follow along to a guy on YouTube to keep pace while listening to music. There’s a few good videos on YouTube about how to build proper form that Id recommend watching that make it much easier. There’s also a ton of channels that have multiple videos at multiple levels as you build up. On the other side, I have no idea how many calories I’m actually burning, but I like it. I know after 20 minutes I can feel the puke feeling building, but I’m also out of shape.
I’ll probably use this one for 6-12 months and if I’m still doing it regularly I’ll buy a concept2 that’s like $1,000. I now wish I would have bought the concept2 right away. I do have some shoulder problems, so I wasn’t sure how it would handle the rower and didn’t want to drop $1,000 blind. It doesn’t bother my shoulder at all though. The concept2 is what all the people on the videos use and are still less than half the peloton style rowers that have built in screens and require subscriptions. You don’t need that if you have a tablet and YouTube.
