I saw a pretty good tweet about the peloton wife the other day. Something about her having the last laugh or something now.

I had to go running for the first time in like a year today, because I don't know what to do without being able to swim laps. I was really kicking ass at it and lost a crap ton of weight doing it. Anyways, I got 4 miles in today and I felt really old doing it. What are you guys doing to stay fit or are some of you just taking 15 days off?

just did a light 2 miler here. might have to take a long hiatus from lifting.

It’s times like this that paying those gym fees and not building my own gym at home is biting me in the ass.
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

I'm definitely going for a jog this evening and maybe tomorrow too before the next round of cold weather sets in.

Peloton or peloton that’s a rowing machine?

Here is an easy entry into the OTF cult.  At-home workouts with common things in your house.

I'm taking my workouts to the streets mostly.  Tried to do one of those Julian Michaels DVDs afterwards and damn near died.  What is wrong with that lady?

I have been doing this workout twice a day. I should be able to do back to back ironmans once I’m allowed outside again.

Good choice.  I had to pause it a bit on the straight leg kickback section.

update: there is an inherent counterproductive risk of drinking beers while biking that i'm not sure is associated with running or other similar activities

Running is definitely safer, but it is also much more difficult.

running while drinking seems much more unpleasant

but in general I have no desire to combine alcohol with physical exertion

I was out walking my dog Tuesday and took a big hit off the vape pen that sent me into a coughing fit in the middle of the street and a guy was staring at me through his window probably thinking I was infecting his whole area

The few times I’ve combined drinking and running I probably could have beat Usain Bolt in a race.

OMG I ran through a vape trail (could smell the grape flavor) from a car 20' away and immediately went home googling CV and distance.

I just did 30 minutes on my rower. If one of you could come kill me quickly, I’d appreciate it.

What kind of rower? Would you recommend? Seeing those fancy ones and considering if it would be better than a peloton.

I bought a cheap one off amazon to see if I would like it. It was a $350 Sunny air/magnetic. The monitor doesn’t do the calories/distance right, but I don’t want to pack it up and exchange it just for that. I can’t run as much as I’d like because my calves/shins hurt and then just lock up, so I use my treadmill and watch an episode of something like Brooklyn 99 and when I’m done I switch to the rower.

I like the rower. It’s pretty amazing how quickly you can build up strength (increase resistance) and endurance on it. I follow along to a guy on YouTube to keep pace while listening to music. There’s a few good videos on YouTube about how to build proper form that Id recommend watching that make it much easier.  There’s also a ton of channels that have multiple videos at multiple levels as you build up.  On the other side, I have no idea how many calories I’m actually burning, but I like it. I know after 20 minutes I can feel the puke feeling building, but I’m also out of shape.

I’ll probably use this one for 6-12 months and if I’m still doing it regularly I’ll buy a concept2 that’s like $1,000.  I now wish I would have bought the concept2 right away. I do have some shoulder problems, so I wasn’t sure how it would handle the rower and didn’t want to drop $1,000 blind. It doesn’t bother my shoulder at all though. The concept2 is what all the people on the videos use and are still less than half the peloton style rowers that have built in screens and require subscriptions. You don’t need that if you have a tablet and YouTube.

I got that same cheap rower, it's great really, and quiet so you can like watch TV or whatever.

I hate exercise and crap, but rowing is like the best of things I hate. I used it for like 4 months then abandoned it during Christmas.

I’ve gotten super in shape, but now I don’t know what to do with it. Thinking about treating my body like a trash can again so I have something to work on.
