What kind of rower? Would you recommend? Seeing those fancy ones and considering if it would be better than a peloton.

How’s everyone’s overall physical health going as we enter week 4 of shutdown 2020?  I started off really good but man not having any gyms open sucks major ass.  Also doesn’t help all sports have been cancelled that I would have been playing.

I had an older model of the same one. The display is super basic which might be fine for you but it's not going to make you excited to work out on it.  It's basically a mechanical machine with a pedometer (or rowing equivalent) on it.  The plus is that there isn't much to break.  I liked it and it gave a really good work out.  The seat part folds vertical to store pretty easily.  It is fairly loud.

I ran about 35 miles over the past 7 days. Basically have replaced all strength training with cardio. Need to work in pushups and planks or something.

I really haven't worked out much since quarantine started (treadmill a few times, and some push-ups) but I keep dropping lbs.  Turns out that not eating out/delivery 5-10 times a week is a decent way to lose weight

HOME GYM UPDATE

i had been avoiding doing my "usual" chest workouts because they involve a lot of moves on the bench (obvs) and i don't have one, but today i just tried it out on the floor and surprisingly it was pretty effective. got creative with a lawn chair for the incline moves.

I've been doing alot of manual labor cleaning up the windbreaks at the cat ranch, mainly tearing up weed patches and moving dead limbs. My biceps are getting freaking YOKED so I figured I would share my workout plan.

Step 1. Get a metal bow rake
Step 2. Start tearing up the dead weeds that are head high until you uncover an old tree or tree limb.
Step 3. Move old limb to a pile that will eventually be moved to the burn pit then mow over all the dead weeds.
Step 4. Start over at step 1.

Great for your lats and traps as well!

Our personal trainers at work have been doing live stream workouts a couple times a week.  When I haven't been busy it's been nice to have that during the day as a break.  I've been out walking/jogging more and more since it's been nice almost every day.  I've still probably gained 10 pounds though  :frown:

Evaporated milk is for the birds. Use emu oil, but make sure it's made from real emus.

on january 2, 2018 i weighed 229 lbs

Also I weighed in at 200 this morning, this crap is hilariously effective. I have been very good about not cheating. For example just now I ate a Monterey melt at whataburger NO BUN NO FRIES! LIKE I ATE IT WITH A FORK AND A KNIFE WTF!!??

i never updated itt but by summer 2018 i was as low as 165 (!) which was too skinny. people thought i got cancer or something.

i have settled into a nice groove of about 175 in spring/summer/fall and 185-190 in the winter. cycling is my only workout, and i do not enjoy cycling in cold weather so i just don't do it.
i would say my diet leans keto, but is certainly not strict keto. I basically don't eat bread anymore, and i know reflexively which foods to limit, but i also refuse to give up chips and salsa, tots, etc.
i try not to string too many trashcan days together, but in the winter it's very easy to eat dessert 24/7.

thank all of you so much for this thread back in winter 2017/early 2018.

Yea feels bad man, I look back at my face in old pics and IRL :sdeek:

Down about 25 lbs from about a year ago to about 212.  Targeting 200 long term.  Mostly limiting carbs somewhat and only eating at noon and 6ish.  Booze calories coming from more liquor than beer.
