Per Mrs_Rex, Egyptian media today has ceased referring to the MB as the Muslim brothers (ikhwan muslimeen) and have almost universally began referring to them as the Organization of Brothers (tanzim al-ikhwan), a rhetorical shift that both removes the "Muslim" from their title but also uses the same terms they use to describe al-Qaeda (tanzim al-qaeda) and fits nicely in line with the the government/military's efforts to repeatedly brand them as "terrorists."

Also, I misspoke on the MOI. His most recent statement now calls for all citizens to clear Ramses square so that their forces can "clear the terrorists."

Yeah. The Gulf states are terrified of Islamist movements like the MB sprouting up in their own countries and are very supportive of the "dispersals" (it wasn't a coincidence that they all sent billions to the new government right after Morsi got tossed). And Saudi Arabia had their own "ikhwan" that ibn Saud used to found the country then had the British slaughter after they proved a bit too Islam-y and unruly for his tastes.

Fox News' pussy correspondent is all "I'm live in Cairo" while standing at the touristy Citadel overlooking the city. The park behind him was were where I went to the jazz festival (and were built by USAID over a sewer, btw).

Also, the military-imposed curfew is noon central and the country is effectively under martial law due to the announced state of emergency.

i'm sure it was explained back on page 22 or something, but what's the deal with the shoe holding up thing?

I think it's like a middle finger.  Like eff you bros.  They should really adopt the finger, particularly when they might need to fight or run from gunfire.  Gonna need that shoe on the foot.

Money and power trumps religion.

Quote
In a room sit three great men, a king, a priest, and a rich man with his gold. Between them stands a sellsword, a little man of common birth and no great mind. Each of the great ones bids him slay the other two. ‘Do it’ says the king, ‘for I am your lawful ruler.’ ‘Do it’ says the priest, ‘for I command you in the names of the gods.’ ‘Do it’ says the rich man, ‘and all this gold shall be yours.’ So tell me: who lives and who dies?

It reads like posts are missing the past page or so.  What the eff is going on in here and why is John Dougie the only one that seems aware of it?  This isn't right.

Was it being supplemented by tweets?  Is that it?  Have I had a stroke?  Go cats?

No, I have it because I have the sword and am apparently down with murder and those other pussies evidently don't have the chops.  Boom roasted reversed.

They're going to kill you if you don't pick one and maybe burn down your house or something too.  So there.  Fixed your wagon right up.
