Small update. Granddaughter has announced she WILL be leaving for school no matter what. She is now looking for a place to rent because she discovered if she lives on campus, she has to wear a head scarf 24/7, even in the privacy of her room, and that's just "ridiculous."  :eek: Felix, I don't suppose you have a room to let over there, do ya?

My recommendo?  Find her passport the night before and feed it to the shredder without her knowing.  Rinse and repeat until this stupidity has been delayed long enough for her to come to her senses.

This sounds odd. AUC is not super conservative. May be a pretext for off campus housing.

Also, the evac is being reviewed on the 27th. And instead of the normal 30-day rule, they're evaluating it every 10 days after that.
