Also threw out a stat that 99% of Egyptian women have been sexually harassed :sdeek:

Seems awfully high. Does calling a female toots and winking count?

There's dust/sand everywhere in Cairo (yeah surprise). Shop owners have a garden hose to spray down the area in front of their business to keep too much of it from floating around their customers. A typical move at a street side cafe is to blast the sidewalk with way too much water when a woman is about to walk by, so she has to grab her skirt to keep the mud off and your patrons get some hot ankle action. This sounds ridiculous and made up but it's a crowd pleaser. Hombres necios.

Sounds pretty hot.   Is ankle fetish a thing?

The military has now released a propaganda video (with some cool helicopter footage of the protests, lasers, etc) with a soundtrack that sounds like GoT.

Just to keep everyone up to speed, the MB rally today announced plans to storm "pro-coup" foreign embassies while the (former) opposition "exposed" US Ambassador Anne Patterson's secret plot with salafists to turn Egypt into "another Syria". Meanwhile, in response to the MB calling the new interim prez a Jew, anti-MB media claimed Morsi was a Palestinian, prompting the MB to demand an apology for the "insult" and in turn prompting the local Palestinian interest group to demand the MB apologize for calling "Palestinian" an insult. Meanwhile, Copts keep getting killed/burned down and some salafists fired an RPG at a bus.

I leave for a week and the whole damn place goes to hell.

Then Morsi broke his nose.

That's our Morsi!

mb=muslim brothers. Political/social activist group banned under last regime. Trivia: was first group to take up arms against Israel (serious "Arab street" cred); has since denounced violence but link analysis suggest they just use splinter groups.

morsi=elected leader and member of muslim brotherhood that got couped; also very short and speaks comically bad English but refuses to quit trying. Kind of a dick. Called Jews (take a drink!) apes/pigs spawn.

copt=Egyptian Christian. the ones with the cross with a circle on top (maybe depicting head that will likely be cut off? Not sure but definitely possible). They all have small cross tattoos on the bottom of their wrists.

another syria= lots of Arabs believe Syria is being overthrown by AQ type jihadis supported by the US (because Afghanistan in 80s) just to further isolate Iran (and in turn Hezbollah) and help the Jews (take a drink!). So, using Sunnis (Catholic Muslims) against Shias (Protestant Muslim) but still ignoring Sufis! (black charismatic Muslims). Most reliable intelligence suggests Druze is a made-up word to make fun of Syrians' accents for sounding like Jews (take a drink!)

palestinian=Not widely discussed in Western media, but ALL arabs HATE Palestinians. Like how ALL Europeans HATE Russians. Also, some think the Palestinians sold their land to the Jews (take a drink!) and then wanted everyone else to fight to get it back and/or give them asylum (lol no one will they've been refugees for like half a century while surrounding by their "friends).

salafists=fundamentalist Muslims who think everyone should live like Muhammad. Lead the league in hating Jews (take a drink!)

Thanks for that, felix. I didn't realize that I'd been confusing Salafists with Sufis(very embarrassing to admit). Sufis are generally agreeable, right?

the confusion over everything in egypt is kinda interesting to me.  separate the browns and yellows so i don't have to think about it as much!  (jesus, maybe we need to rethink this whole color scheme idea?)

I don't understand why Jews are such a big deal over there. They should take clams' advice and just chill the eff out over the Jews.

I am starting to get it, except the "another Syria" thing.  I mean, Iran is going to do Iran is going to do Iran things whether they have a bunch of friends or not.

Hezbollah is Iran's hand in the Levant (I mean, they're more than that but they're also that). Syria is the arm.

AQ = Al Queda, right?  Do they believe we are supporting rebels in Syria to give us an excuse to invade?

We are always plotting invasions and scheming to set up puppets, usually for oil or Israel but sometimes just to eff with muslims. This is a constant.

This is the scene on the 6 October bridge right now. Major artery. MB has bussed in supporters from rural areas to "paralyze" Cairo. Doesn't look good for Rex/Mrs Rex August reunion. :frown:
