As the only functional entity in the country, the military can probably contain (not entirely stop) an uprising. But it's just a bad move reconciliation-wise. The MB has been marginalized and persecuted for decades and this is just gonna trigger their worst instincts. I know I keep saying democracy is hard, but it doesn't have to be this hard.

Please refer me to whatever page this is posted on if I missed it (sorry if forty-luked, etc), but I've read reports saying that the MB took part in perpetuating widespread voter fraud and that Egyptians don't view the results as legitimate like a lot of western media outlets did. Is that true, is it overblown, or is the truth somewhere in between?

Iirc, the MB roll deep in other nearby countries(syria? Iran?) and are terror buddies with other nearby org's (Hezbollah? ).  Just seems like a really bad move by all involved, if I a correct above.  I mean, don't they and their friends get their jollies by tossing rockets at isreal and stuff?  Seems like Egypt just threw a rock at their hive.

The MB isn't really an international bogeyman. Plus, Hezbollah is Shia and already have a more well-endowed patron in Iran. MB does have ties to Hamas and has always been active in the whole "we hate Israel" game.

The MB is very good at propaganda. The way they've been feeding crazy pill stories like this as fact to the NYT is nothing short of shocking to me.
