you would think that she would at least check out the place before agreeing to live there forever.  sounds like the mormons might be needed to visit with her about jesus christ and joseph smith or whatever.

But in all seriousness, DeVere, this sounds like a terrible idea. But to clarify, I would also say that if the boyfriend was an American on a different coast or something. Islam has nothing to do with it. I mean, they've been cybering for a year now, so how fundamentalist can he be, right.

I mentioned Islam in my story because, like hard core Christians, the men can be very controlling, and this guy was.  All roses at first, and all thorns later.

It's easy to believe that a head-over-heels in-love youngster could cook up something this boneheaded, but what doesn't make sense is her parents not questioning the deal thoroughly. My immediate reaction has been :runaway:. But my wife pointed out all we can do is ask questions and provide information. So I guess I just have to sit back and .

lol. this blog.

Oh, and FR, you didn't overstep anything. I welcome your honest, unedited opinion. If you feel up to it, could you put a percentage on chances she ends up a prisoner in her own home over there, in the center of 3 concentric circles, etc. Oh god.  :ohno:

I swear to God, if I ever have a daughter...

I need to ensure future child is another boy.  This scares the crap out of me.

Frankly, she sounds like the type who would take a spring break trip to the Caribbean and be all "I thought I could trust the bouncer."

I was on the fence before, but I know American students there now who know how to not go film a violent protest and get stabbed. When your primary motivation for studying in a country currently undergoing its second revolution in 2 years is a skype boyfriend, I lean toward no. It sounds like her primary support network has a 80-90 percent chance of disintegrating while she's there.

Haven't ever spoke about something specific on goEMAW before, but this thread was mentioned at 4th of July family gathering. Sounds like im not the only one. So many amazing elements.

Congrats on the incoming kid Felix rex. Do you know exactly when you will be heading back?

let's be honest, the way it sounds, if the civil war doesn't get this girl, something else will...regardless of whether she's in egypt or north dakota.
