Welp, it's officially the anniversary of the crackdown on the MB sit-ins last year. So, time to #burnitdown, Cairo.

True story: I didn't hear about Ferguson until Egyptians started saying it looked like Cairo and accusing the US of a double standard on human rights.

Graffiti in downtown Cairo (on the street where the bloodiest clash took place in 2011): "Those with four legs are friends"

Vodaphone is one of the main cell phone companies here. Today, this tweet appeared on their twitter account for about fifteen minutes:

They deleted it, but not before this happened:

Overall, a delightful day in Cairo (aside from the "cat massacre" protest planned for tomorrow).

Holy crap, Egyptian press.  After weeks of ranting against the US response to Ferguson and "racism in America," leading daily Youm7 drops this full page feature on "gangs of black horrors in Cairo".

No. This is a super racist newspaper warning Egyptians that Sudanese refugees are dangerous animals. It's so anachronistically racist it's almost difficult to process. Also, you can find the source picture if you google "black gangs". That's apparently how they did it. The same outlet ran a story today on a dead lion found in the garbage in a different governorate, complete with a photo tagged "dead lion - archived". So they have an archive that includes dead lions. Somewhere, someone requested that and another guy was all "one dead lion coming right up!"

But for this story, they had just googled "black gangs."

I am immune to it because I can't read any of the squiggles.
My prescience is fully engorged.  It throbs with righteous accuracy.  I am sated.

I just hope I can handle all this cheesecake if we don't get one solid time locked down.

I'm going go with the tiramisu next time.  Gooch's looked like it was pretty good.  You may have to do the same and switch it up.

The creampuff was money as we'll, they were out of those today.....don't think you can go wrong with any of the options.
