No way.  You need "I THINK" ? GTFOOMF with what you think.

Only I'm right and you're wrong. That's the difference maker.

Ooh, nice outfit. What is that, Dacron?

ya i didn't realize that the pilots that fly the regionals (industry insider lingo) like the AA guys only need like 200 hrs of flytime to get a job.

They a PBS Frontline episode on this recently. Let me summarize if for you

Blah blah blah, someone died, blah blah balh, pilots work long hours for little pay, blah blah blah more government regulation needed.

No way. You need I think 1,000-1,500+ hrs to become an airline pilot. You need to have a commercial license first, and some of those guys on GL may be only licensed commercially but they would only be allowed to co-pilot. So at least one of those dudes will have 1,500+ hrs. Not to mention 100+ hrs to fly at night. The multi-engine and turbine ratings would be needed for the planes they're flying, but those don't actually require hours to get, just an endorsement.

The legislation requires all airline pilots to log at least 1,500 hours of flight time before flying passengers, up from the current 250-hour minimum for newly hired co-pilots. The bill also boosts training, mandates the creation of a national database of pilot records to help airlines conduct background checks before hiring and aims to reduce pilot fatigue by directing the FAA to update rules on pilot duty hours.

You can read the quotes in your own post and determine that you were wrong. But just know that I lol'd like a maniac at you bringing this back up.

Also you are more than welcome to participate in the more recent DIA eliteness [additional] thread if you are prepared to play nice.
