The thing about dead lifts is that you're going to have to stop doing them at some point.  Middle aged men that dead lift are rough ridin' weirdos.
Guess I'm a weirdo. I love dead lifts which I did today since it was leg and back day.

There is no doubt that there is a lot off about you in a I wouldn't care to be around it sense.  So this fits perfectly.
My prescience is fully engorged.  It throbs with righteous accuracy.  I am sated.

I always acknowledge it.  It seems rude not to.  I mean if I give someone a raise and they thank me, I'm not put off by it.  I don't see the downside unless you hate your boss or they hate you.  I appreciate the raise.  I'm not some stupid dick fuckface who is all oh I deserved it so I can't be appreciative.  People like that can step the eff off.
Acknowledge with a note, or do you just verbally thank your boss?

I take the time to thank my boss in person.  He is about 25ish years older than me and we get along very well given the age difference.  He appreciates the way I conduct my business and I appreciate the appreciation.  It's the way it should be imo.

how are people in general being notified of their raises?  generic HR letter with no prior discussion?  i mean, mine comes during a review process where i'm face-to-face with my boss and obviously thank him then and it seems ample

Old company was a letter from HR.  Current is "Hey, I was thinking of giving you a raise.  How does %% sound?"

Bread's a tough book to read.  One minute it's gyrating hips and swollen peens and the next minute it's sound career advice.  I bet his list of acknowledgements ranges from Charlie Sheen to Warren Buffet.

It's personal preference and that all sounds awful, just awful.  If it's any consolation you wouldn't enjoy my company.

Found out that I'm probably gonna have to find a job somewhere else and move. Current position doesn't have enough hours to sustain me full time in the long run (it's based off soft grant funding from a state agency and goes through a university...all sorts of bureaucratic hell).

Gah. At least this gives me an excuse to try and move to Brooklyn or something.

I'll be at the river market one at 6 if you're interested. I'm meeting up with a former coworker from that software sales job. Hit me up if you want, bud!

I'm with you, Mr. Bread. Except I enjoy beer. But not like in a serious way, just a "this is better than Coors Original" kind of way.

Did they quit doing the food part of HH? Was there with my dad last Thursday and that seemed to have disappeared from the HH menu. There used to be some great deals
:adios:

Didn't order anything, so I'm not sure. I hope not. They still advertise the good portion online.

i have worked here for 3+ years. it is a small-ish company with roughly 35 employees. when i was hired i was informed that there is a review at the end of each year. i have never had a review (and nobody else on my floor has either AFAIK), but i have gotten a sizeable raise each year. my boss (who started the company) is in the process of retiring and i think he just couldn't GAF about year end reviews.

Afternoons. We all have them. What I want to know is how yours is going?

Thanks everyone.
