I got through a whole deadlift workout today without hurting anything, so I'm doing splendid, but the cherry on top of this fiery fudge dragon sundae was watching my favorite batcat rain down threes and crash the boards during my rest periods.

I have never heard of this. I feel like the raise is a thank you note to you for doing good work. To show your appreciation, try saying thanks and continue to do good work.

I always acknowledge it.  It seems rude not to.  I mean if I give someone a raise and they thank me, I'm not put off by it.  I don't see the downside unless you hate your boss or they hate you.  I appreciate the raise.  I'm not some stupid dick fuckface who is all oh I deserved it so I can't be appreciative.  People like that can step the eff off.
