Just think what he could do if he could recruit.  Would love to see it.

Are saying you think he does a good job with in-season and in-game coaching? Because that's what it sounds like. And now we've come full circle.

was just going to ask how many times this thread has come full circle?  apparently at least once.  It's also diverted direction several times (i.e. recruiting)

Summary:
1. Everyone wishes, that by his fifth year, Frank's teams would NOT still be playing games like they did @OU
2. Almost no one should be surprised at the @OU game
3. K-State will probably be at its best come February and March (this is because Frank recruits above average, but not elite, players and is a good coach, not because of these BIOQ moments)

I'd like to remind everyone:  This was supposed to be a "rebuilding" season.

If anyone thinks #1 (zacker?) they should never be allowed to watch college basketball ever ever again, and should shoot a bottle rocket into their dominant eye.

No.  He should recruit better and find a different way to prove points, because since he can't recruit better, his proving points/substititions are magnified and cause us to lose games.

I suppose he could just recruit better then he could frank with the line up all he wants.

I am starting to think Frank's system and philosophy doesn't lend itself to landing big time recruits.

That doesn't make any sense at all.

I think it is silly to assume that anyone on the coaching staff not named Hill had anything to do with Mike.  I could very well be wrong and you right.  I think the original commitment to Charlotte shows that he would have gone anywhere.  Now you can credit Frank/Huggs for getting Hill to get Mike, which in the world of modern CBB recruiting is now a fairly legitimate method of recruiting (hiring the handler/AAU Coach/Father to get the associated kid).

Walker is a legitimate claim Frank has to a high level successful recruit on paper.  I wonder though how much Walker staying was influenced by his injury history, consistency, and development rather than Frank keeping him around that little bit longer. Maybe he was able to see playing with Mike and Jake as part of the package to keep people.

i just didn't understand the point.  why does it matter if it's his first year or fifth year?

but i do wish that the KSU Wild Wildcats would play awesome every game and never lose.  so literally i agree. but of course it's not a realistic expectation that your team will never play a bad game once a coach has coached a team for a predetermined amount of years.

So, recruitniks, what is the pipeline of legit prospects of the McOReb 2/3 guys, and are we recruiting any legit point guards??

Yeah and Dalonte stayed with Frank after Huggins left, and before Mike came to Kansas State dumbass.  You're a goddamned fool if you think Mike would have came here if Frank and Weiser didn't retain Dalonte, LOI be damned.

Huggs stole Hill from Lutz.  Martin outbid Huggs for Hill (~$420k).

I can't tell if anyone still thinks Martin landed Walker.  Clearly that's wrong as Walker played for Huggs at K-State.

Take away Beasley and Walker, and Pullen is definitely Martin's best player.  Not even a rivals 150 player.

huggins outbid lutz for hill.  that's how he hired him.  he doubled his salary (60k to 120k).  btw, hill's first salary under martin was ca. 300k.

so huggins gets more credit because he offered hill an easy choice, martin gets less because he had to beat out a competitive offer.  now that you explain it, that makes sense, thanks fsd.

you're just disagreeing to disagree.

calling what k-state paid Hill* a "competitive offer" is ridiculous.  Huggs couldn't have brought Hill to WVU if he wanted to at that money.

based on the "competitive offer" idiocy: if anyone gets credit for keeping hill at k-state it's Wefald and Krause for devising the Head Coach/Associate Head Coach financial scheme

Why would Krause get credit for anything, he was nearly a year and a half from becoming the AD when Frank became the head coach.  Jesus I already told you once in this topic that Weiser was the AD.  Wave the flag here FSD you're in way over your head, you don't even know basic details.
