Tom Seaver

I went to a Royals-White Sox game back in 1986 which was at the very end of Tom's career.  My dad and I were both bummed that we didn't get to see him pitch.  Tom Seaver was one of those "old timey legends still playing" that made following sports kinda weird and fun growing up.

RIP Bob Gibson, perhaps the greatest pitcher who ever lived. Treated horribly by baseball after retiring as a player.

One of a kind.

If you haven’t read his autobiography “Stranger to the Game,” I highly recommend it.

What an absolute boss.

If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

There has been an unbelievable run on HOF baseball players as of late. I think it’s within a week or two that Bob Gibson, Whitey Ford, and now Joe Morgan have died...

Never saw Joe play, but loved him as an announcer. Sunday Night Baseball with Jon Miller and Joe Morgan was a staple of my youth.

Mods, feel free to move.  He wasn't a celeb in the worldly sense of the term but he was an institution in the KSU college of ag and he influenced policy at the national level for decades.  I learned more in his ag policy class than I did in any other class I took at kstate.
