2.5-hour poorly lit movie at midnight?  I'd be sleeping like a baby.

Not in an IMAX theater.  It was really, really loud.  Like really loud.

I don't know.  I've slept through a lot of crap.

kstate/mu during the huggins year. kid did not wake up the entire time. most babies are rough ridin' maniacs when it comes to sleeping if they're tired. maniacs i tell you.

I'm sure.  I mean, if you gotta sleep, you gotta sleep.

I've watched both of the prior dark knight movies in the last couple weeks to remember what happened before watching this one, and I've fallen asleep multiple times during both.  Begins while on my couch w/it on the big screen pretty loud, D.K. on my ipad on my chest not that loud but like a foot from my head.

I think you prolly have sleep apnea.

I'm going to a 10:15 PM showing tomorrow.  :ohno:

So my question...is Gotham City really Pittsburgh?  Or do they just play their football games there?  Or did they fall just a few dollars short where they couldn't get rid of the "UPMC" sign on the jumbotron in the editing room?

Begins & DK were shot in Chicago.

DKR shot in NYC; football game shot in Pittsburgh.

Consistently no attempts made to hide famous buildings/etc from each city. Don't see why they would start now.

Yeah, the idea was to show how big Gotham City was by shooting all different buildings in the three movies.

What are the chances that Alfred imagined seeing oscar Wayne in the final minute of the movie? After Inception, this is at least a possibility, right?

no.   Alfred had no idea that oscar and Selina were romantically involved at all, he left long before she started coming around.   Plus she was wearing the pearls that were missing from the estate.

Great, I didn't realize Selina Gomez was in this flick. If my kid finds out, he will be begging me every fricking day to take him to this thing.

i didn't say legitimate argument. but some wrongheaded person somewhere will make a begins over rises contention.

I think we'll need at least a couple years or so for all the hype to die down, and watch rises a couple more times to judge it effectively.

I want to hit up Stimulus Tuesday to check this out tonight.  I don't think we'll have a problem getting in/getting a seat, but my roommate is certain that we don't have a shot.

He's being a huge dumbass, right?

DKR was basically a bigger better Batman Begins. It's very very similar in story arch. Personally, I really liked Batman Begins. While I think The Dark Knight was the better movie, I enjoyed DKR more. It was an actual Batman movie. Not a Joker movie co starring batman.

Dark Knight Rises?  More like Tale of Two Cities.  Except oscar is no Sydney.  Maybe he didn't have to be?

goEMAW kid Cole had to explain to me that it was really a living oscar Wayne because Batman autopiloted the nuke to the ocean as evidenced by that guy telling Red that oscar Wayne had fixed the autopilot months earlier.

Thus, I highly recommend taking children to this movie after midnight.

kids related:

don't take your rough ridin' 6 yr old to see a R movie (Ted) while they run up and down the stairs with their little friends pretty much ruining the movie (even if it was Ted) for everyone.  then, when the little sh*t finally sat down directly behind me, he couldn't shut the hell up. didn't know what he was talking about ,all in spanish, not trying to be  :opcat: but I honestly wanted to know what the hell this kid could be talking about for 2 hours). the dad did absolutely nothing, how can you be this bad of a parent fellow goEMAW-parents?

DKR related:

No way Nolan goes with the Robin thing.  What is so special about Robin? He wasn't trained by a badass fraternity of assassins. He's not rich. He's just an ex-cop.  I just don't see it, but it's an OK way to end the movie. Also, Batman's mean ex-gf

I don't think there'll be more movies; they just did the Robin stuff so everyone can know that he'll take over the Batman role and everyone will live happily ever after.

I saw DKR yesterday and was a bit let down. It was way more like Begins than I wanted. I wish it had been more about Bane just kicking ass and killing people, like the Dark Knight. Still a very good movie, IMO.
