In and out burger
« on: December 13, 2011, 01:43:22 PM »
On my way to Cali for the week. There's an in and out burger 30 minutes from where I'm staying. I've heard it's good, but is it worth an hour roundtrip? Or is it just good because we don't have them in ks/ok?

It's good (for fast food), but not worth the trip.

Of course, if you're thirty minutes from an In-N-Out in California, your closer options may make it worth the trip.

It's great fast food, take that as you want. If you're driving down the street and you have a bunch of chain restaurants and McDonalds it's definitely worth picking over the others. But an hour round trip, ehhhhhh

I would actually get one on the way to the airport. I'm guessing there's one between you and the airport or close to that route. Just a guess.

Unless there's one in LAX I guess I'll pass. I'm going to some crappy AFB. Vandenburg or something like that.

there is one right by lax if you're in a rental.  santa maria thinks their bbq (tritip sandwich) is something particularly good, i haven't tried it, but it looks ordinary.  you can get really good mexican in santa maria, i'm sure.

don't listen to these philistines pushing in&out.  it not only isn't special, it's not very good.  shitty fries, ordinary burgers.  carl's jr is better.

Yes, it's catchy, and it will obviously get people in the door, but does it describe the restaurant accurately? Absolutely.

californians aren't responsible for hyping the living crap out of the place.  californians treat it like the fast food it is.

If they wouldn't let sonic leave the midwest and made the chili cheese tots a secret menu item t-shirt buyers from all over the west coast would flock to it.

In Michigan, when the first Sonic opened, it was on the 11 o'clock news.

maybe it's just my local sonic, but it sucks.  in-n-out is good burgers.

in-n-out reminds me of five guys burgers but a little thinner and better lettuce.
