i mean, the convenience of it sounds great- no doubt.  but it kind of seems like it wouldn't be quite as much fun when you whip out a perfectly cooked brisket and ribs and say "look what i did", when all that you did was push a button.  i don't know, maybe i'm being an elitist.  i think i am to some extent.  but i've also spent a million nights up at 4 am checking the temps of my smoker/meat and what not so i feel like i can be a bit pompous when it comes to bbq.
Well nothing beats (in my book) putting a nice pork shoulder on about 10 pm or so pushing said button and going to bed with no fucks given to wake up to a perfectly smoked piece of meat.

just buy a bigger crockpot

This is the team I am on as well.  I usually have too much other crap going on to constantly dote over a fire and making sure dampers are shut right, etc.  Also, I am usually waaaayyy pak'd during this process which at times hampers the effort.

I went totally puss with a Masterbuilt electric, but the food still tastes great and the compliments still make me smile all the same, without hours of tending the fire and temp.

I asked for "Guardians of the Galaxy" but I couldn't wait so I went and bought it today.

wait, you bought a movie? why on earth would you do that?

It was $10, I'll watch it multiple times, and I like lending movies I love out to my friends.

I don't know what to ask for.
You should ask Santa for a Yoder Smoker.

Do not want. There is already a smoker taking up a bunch of space in my garage. Plus I don't know how to smoke anything so this is not a good gift for me.

OK, if theoretically someone was going to buy this smoker, what accessories would they need to go with it that, maybe someone could give them as a Christmas gift?

Bags of different types of wood pellets for the smoker.

Are you sure there aren't any racks or something like that which someone may insist that they need, causing the smoker to actually cost more than they originally said it was going to cost?

Yes.  I would buy these to go with the smoker.  A friend of mine has them on his and they work very well.

My bro has a yoder smoker and loves it.  I have a BGE and do the 'clams 4am checks and love it. Some people are artists and some like to buy art.  Different strokes or whatever.

I have a BBQ fork that has a thermometer built into it.  I also have a remote thermometer that will transmit meat temp to a receiver on the kitchen counter.  All good investments.
