Quote from: pissclams on December 09, 2014, 02:43:38 PMi mean, the convenience of it sounds great- no doubt. but it kind of seems like it wouldn't be quite as much fun when you whip out a perfectly cooked brisket and ribs and say "look what i did", when all that you did was push a button. i don't know, maybe i'm being an elitist. i think i am to some extent. but i've also spent a million nights up at 4 am checking the temps of my smoker/meat and what not so i feel like i can be a bit pompous when it comes to bbq. Well nothing beats (in my book) putting a nice pork shoulder on about 10 pm or so pushing said button and going to bed with no fucks given to wake up to a perfectly smoked piece of meat.

There is already a smoker taking up a bunch of space in my garage. Plus I don't know how to smoke anything so this is not a good gift for me.

Yes. I would buy these to go with the smoker. A friend of mine has them on his and they work very well.http://www.atbbq.com/store/show/ys-grill-grates.html
