It will be very interesting to see how Arkansas handles our stretch read option. I'm sure they've seen plenty of zone read option, but our version of stretch read is fairly unique. I haven't watched enough SEC football to know if anyone does it much there though.
I hope we run more formations with Hubert split out and motion him to the mesh point too. Puts a little more pressure on a defense and really doesn't change much for the offense.
Florida under Meyer ran it a little bit, fairly close to the KState version. It complimented that veer/midline/pump stretch. It was neither excellent nor shut down. KState likes to read the ends and we've got two very brainy guys back there. Bequette won't pop up in the stat sheet as one of the best in the SEC, but that's because he had some injury issues midseason. He'll be a playmaker in the game, big time. If the option kills us, it will be our secondary wiffing when the LB pushes the option to the edge. A trademark of Willie Robinson defenses. :-(
Our run fits are not very good in the interior run game. Keep it between the tackles, every once in a while stretch the defense to the perimeter, and play action pass. Passing downs we will tee off on you and I'm not sure how many times Klein will get up after Bequette hits him. I don't think it will come to that, because you guys will run all over us, but if it becomes a passing down game, Bequette will hurt Klein.
Bequette is 7th in the nation in sacks and did so without even playing 3 games and being horribly injured in one game and still being a trooper out there.
