So wait is Houston still eligible for the BCS? I was just reading the selection rules and I'm now extremely confused.

If they stay top 14, they could theoretically get an at large.

no, they are not an AQ conference team.  They are done.

Not that it matters because they won't be picked, but all you have to do to be an at-large is be top 14 with 9 wins.  Hence the theoretically possible to be an at-large.
NO Denied, they must be conference champions to be considered. :nono:

They have to be conference champions to become an automatic bid. They only have to be in the top 14 to be eligible.

Know what is ridiculous in this whole thing? That the conference that could be the best in the country probably won't have its 1 loss champ in the BCS championship game and its 2 loss runner-up is about 50/50 to even get into a BCS bowl

i think cats to sugar is quite a bit higher than 50/50.

Hey guys, we have a pretty good team, too.  :flush: at everyone who is afraid of playing somebody good in a meaningless exhibition game.

Well, winning is always fun.

Winning against a top 5 team is just the icing on the cake.

Ok, so better than 50/50, but still, should it really even be a question at this point

I'll take anyone except Bama.  Good God, they'd destroy us to the point where the game wouldn't even be fun to watch.

We would be the second best team they have played all year.

Our only hope would be if Alabama showed up flat and uninspired and didn't care about the game because they thought they would play for all the marbles while K-State treats it like the Super Bowl, like what happened to Bama against Utah in 2008

Stanford scares me more than Alabama. Luck would tear Cosh's zone defense two new assholes.

Yeah, we wouldn't be able to do crap offensively against Bama but their offense isn't good.  Could see us getting beat like 27-7.

Quit being scared of teams.  We're awesome.

Teams that scare me:
Oklahoma State, LSU.  We will destroy any other possible foe.

He probably would, but the thing about Stanford is their receivers aren't that good.  They are pretty slow, pretty much all possession receivers.  Luck has to throw into tight windows (which he definitely can) but at least there's a chance to deflect the pass or get a pick if he has to throw the ball within inches of Garrett's or Malone's hands.  Stanford's receivers would not be torching 2Y and the rest of the secondary from start to finish like Broyles and his buddies did to us.

They would have to successfully convert two field goals to get to 27.

I had so much fun at that OU game.  And even though I enjoyed myself thoroughly on a day on which we lost,  We still almost won the big 12.

we would rack up 48 minutes of possession. maybe keep the ripped assholes in the 1.5 range

We won't play Bama. The only way we would play Bama is if they weren't in the NC because OSU replaced them. In that case, we are in the Fiesta Bowl and everyone says Stanford is a lock for the Fiesta Bowl...

I think we would win, but the defense would look horrible in the process.

Have I mentioned how terrible it is discussing which team would kick our ass the most in a BCS game?

i know because it's a waste of time.  we'll win.  we already beat the best quarterback (RGIII) the best coach (Mack) and a bunch of other teams.  maybe you should buy in.

I would rather not because TCU will be in the Big 12 starting next season.  I want to see us play a team/conference we rarely face, not a team that we will be playing every year starting in 2012.
