Keep dreaming, hayseed boy.

"Lawrence Area Farms" per the Lawrence Convention & Visitors Bureau.

Also, here's a nice video of cheerleaders "waiving the wheat."  "Jayhawks in the stadium lift their arms over their heads and slowly wave them back and forth. From a distance, this looks like a field of Kansas wheat swaying in a prairie breeze."  hayseeds.

oooh.  man that's a mean one Oregon Hawk.  :horrorsurprise: glass houses man.  Mangino was pretty good i thought.

how about hiring Bill Young?

Hey, I'm just saying that any KU fan who wants to bring back that 500 lb. slob is an idiot.  Mangino lost seven games in a row in '09 and deserved to get fired.  He left us with Jordan Webb for God's sake.

He won an Orange Bowl and followed it up with an Insight Bowl the following year.  That should be worth a lifetime contract at KU.

I know you're just trolling, and you're not possibly stupid enough to believe that statement, but you need to up your effort if you want to survive this thread.

I don't take offense to being called a hayseed. I am proud of my farm background.

Look, dude... I have followed this program closely now for a long time.  Mangino was a solid coach for us, but he lost his edge after the Orange Bowl and didn't recruit well enough to sustain any long-term success.  The truth is that Mangino's an average coach who didn't really have much success until Reesing came along and he was forced to replace his offensive coordinator (Quartaro).  I realize that you want KU to hire another garbage coach like Turner Gill, but that's not going to happen this time around.  Sorry.

bill young

 :flush:

:dunno: he is a DC at a top 10 program.  has experience recruiting and coaching at your school.  seems like a pretty logical candidate.

See, this is funny how the tune changes.  After the '07-'08 miracle, KU was the greatest program in America.  Mangino was coach of the year.  The cupboard was stocked with NFL-ready talent.  The Gridiron Club was in full swing.  Lawrence was basically Columbus, Ohio.  And, no matter how much the haters hated, the KU football program was as good as, or better than, it had ever been.

Now, in 2012, you can finally admit that it was all a mirage.  smoke and mirrors.  Mangino and his program were below average.  Mediocre at best.  2007 was a fluke.  Now, you see the reality that the rest of America saw.

The Mangino Years:
2002:  2–10, 0–8
2003:  6–7, 3–5
2004:  4–7, 2–6
2005:  7–5, 3–5
2006:  6–6, 3–5
2007:  12–1, 7–1
2008:  8–5, 4–4
2009:  5–7, 1–7

That program, the best that KU could hope for, had 1 winning conference season in 8 seasons.  hayseeds.

Beems, you excitement about the potential hire seems to have taken a nose dive.  Shoot for the stars bro.

Not getting Leach would be super embarassing for those rubes.

According to Tom Keegan, Mike Leach should be announced as KU's new coach within the week.

WITHIN THE WEEK!

'Grats, Beems.

07- 4-7
08- 3-8
09- 6-5
10- 6-5

Those numbers represent the win loss record of Illinois State's football team the last 4 years Zenger was there.  Not sure how this guy is get painted as the big time football guy with all these great connections.  All he has ever done is over see a middle of the road gateway team and middle of the road is pretty generous.  ISU pretty well sucks in ball too how did this guy ever get looked at as a BCS level AD?

Look, I typically wouldn't post something like this, but it's Tom Keegan we're talking about here.

but Leach would have a couple of advantages recruiting to KU as well. For one, state-of-the art facilities

The honest truth is that he's considered a big time football guy because he's associated with Snyder and Leavitt.  He's a K-State guy.

I know we're joking with Beems about that, but that really is where it comes from.

I'm going to throw a name out there for KU....James Franklin.

"Vandy Vice Chancellor of Athletics David Williams confirmed to the Nashville Tennessean Sunday that talks are already underway that would both extend Franklin’s current deal for an unnamed number of years as well as give the first-year coach an undetermined bump in pay.  It’s also believed Franklin will be seeking improved football facilities as well as raises for his assistants in the revamped deal."

He wouldn't leave Vandy for Kansas.  LOL

if KU were to go out and grab a guy- some up and comer like the dude from N Illinois, then i think they'd be ok.
