Hey Beems, the Pirate had about the same time to recruit as Weiss.  And he had to recruit to that "crap hole" Pullman, while Charlie had the Harvard on the Kaw.  What schematic advantage accounts for the WSU 53 rank vs. KU 99th.  Inquiring minds crave to know.

LOL at Scout.  Rivals is much more in depth when it comes to football recruiting.  Plus KU has three big-time transfers in Cryst, Heaps, and McCay already signed.  There will be more 5th-year transfers from Notre Dame and Florida after the spring semester as well.  I thought Weis did a pretty solid job addressing team needs and picking up some quality Juco prospects.  This is exactly how Snyder and K-State have made a living over the years.
Beems, which team are you most proud of; one that wins with nobodies, or one that losses with somebodies?  :dunno:

I'm proud of teams that win.  Period.  I don't care who they win with, honestly.

Rumblings that they decided to not use their whole floor in the weight room.

Nothing shows respect like not using your whole floor.

That guy is a bad ass.

Respect is when you rope off portions of your usable area rather than remodeling and put sacred seals on the wall.

I assume these kids from Florida and Notre Dame are bench warmers?  How does taking a bunch of one year transfers off the benches of less then stellar teams help you build for the future?

Seriously?  It's a win-win situation.  5th year transfers don't take up scholarships for incoming recruits, and they can add depth and potential improvement to an area of need.  Florida and Notre Dame have a ton of talented players.  KU can use all of the talent we can get at this point, and you're in an infinite state of denial if you think K-State is above that kind of thing.

Not above it at all in isolated cases such as bringing in a QB when you don't have one.  But to make wide spread use of it just seems crazy.    If is such a great idea how come no other coach that I'm aware of has ever done such a thing?  You get these guys for one year and they just take spots from younger players that you could be developing.

So let me get this straight KU is going to play next year with Florida and Notre Dame's JV team and you're fine with that?   Florida had the 102nd ranked offense or something last year and I heard from KU fans it was due to a lack of talent.  Now you want the guys less talented then the guys that finished 102nd?    Way to stamp your own identity and start fresh Charlie just go out and grab all the rejects from your last two failed college coaching stops.  He's clearly showing that he's learned from his mistakes.

OMG... sound the alarms!  KU's football players can't walk on the Jayhawk seal!  HUR-HUR-HUR!!!

I don't know if you guys have been in the weight room but there is a Jayhawk seal on the floor and he put ropes around the Jayhawk and said that you don't step on the seal. Anywhere you go such as famous buildings you don't step on the seal and early on they were stepping on the seal and he was making them do 200 pushups. Now nobody steps on the seal. Just little things that so respect your school and respect yourself. There is a logo in their locker room so I think they are nervous about walking across that.

Maybe they should all hold hands on their way into the locker room after halftime... that would really be bad ass!

OMG, tell me about it, I hate that.  Wish we would all run to the locker room in a complete lack of organization while pumping up the crowd and taunting the other team.  Would be much more entertaining.

I'm going to take a shot in the dark here and say that they probably aren't starters.  5th year senior starters don't usually transfer from Florida to a team that didn't win a single conference game.  Again, I'm just guessing.

Did Arthur Brown start for Miami?  I'm going to go out on a limb and assume you're downplaying potential transfers from Notre Dame and Florida because you don't want to face the possibility that KU might just be getting some good talent.  It might just shatter your self esteem if KU football started bringing in multiple 5-star prospects.

I'm willing to bet that there are plenty of backups at programs like Florida and Notre Dame that would start for KU and K-State from day one.  And like I said, I don't know who is specifically transferring.  Keep on hatin, haters.

Keep batting 'em off like flies, Beems. You're largely dealing with a fan base that was already insecure and then saw the coach they thought was a terrible hire getting face time on ESPN, etc. Instead of responding to all of them, I would be drafting ideas for what to post after Crist et Weis put up their first 400-500 yard type game. That one's gonna hurt. Enjoy it.
"How will I recruit to Manhattan? Well, distance. And the proud state of basketball. It start there, and then daily flights to Dallas, because I'm really good at going out. Like top five good. Ask my wife. She wants me to be happy."
