I'm going to happily drink the Kool-aid, tuck my shirt in reeeeeeeaaaal tight, and I'm going to hope for the Fiesta.

I'm good with this as long as our fanbase (most of which anticipated maybe a 6 win season) doesn't complain if we do end up in the Cotton.

Well, anyone who is mad at being in the Cotton Bowl is an idiot.  It's the freaking Cotton Bowl.

That said, all things considered, I'd kill to be in the BCS again.

My question is if we get the cotton if we lose to TX and beat ISU.  TX losing to MU has to help us here.  We will have lost the head to head with TX but I see them dropping at least one of @Baylor and @aTm.  Does a 2 loss OU still get into the BCS?  At large bids in order?:

Autos: LSU, OSU, Oregon, VTech/Clem Winner, Some BE loser team, Some B10 loser team

1 loss Bama
1 loss Stanford
Undefeated Houston
2 loss OU
1 loss Boise
Vtech and Clemson are probably playing again in their championship game and a 2 loss OU gets in ahead of either at 2 losses imo
Gotta think a 2 loss OU gets in ahead of any of the loser B10 schools with 2 losses

It's pretty simple. SEC, Pac 12, and Big 12 will each get an at-large bid, plus Houston or Boise for the 4th. The Big 12 at-large will be between OU and K-State. I don't see any realistic scenario where the Big 12 doesn't snag an at-large bid.

If K-State beats Texas, then it will be interesting to see whether OU or K-State, both 10-2, goes to Fiesta. Probably OU.

If K-State loses to Texas, then 10-2 OU definitely goes to Fiesta, and K-State maybe goes to Cotton. Remember, even though K-State will probably finish with a better record than Texas, the Big 12 bowls don't have to pick by record. Cotton could very well decide to take an 8-4 Texas over a 9-3 K-State.

Needless to say, it is very important that we beat Texas to ensure the Cotton Bowl, and keep our hopes alive for Fiesta. If not, San Antonio wouldn't be so bad.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, K-State fans could have beheaded the entire KU team at midcourt, and K-State fans would be celebrating it this morning.  They are the ISIS of Big 12 fanbases.

NCG: LSU vs. OSU
Orange: Big East vs. Clemson
Rose: Oregon vs. Wisconsin
Sugar: Alabama vs. Houston
Fiesta: OU or K-State vs. Mich St. or Stanford

Michigan State still has to play in a CCG, if they win they would go to the Rose and knock all other Big 10 teams out of contention.  If they lose they'll have 2 losses.  Stanford faces Cal and Notre Dame--losable games.  Houston could get beat in their CCG by Southern Miss.

Oklahoma State has to beat Oklahoma to have any shot, unless a major upset occurs in Ames on Friday night.  It may come down to the great John Currie and the Animal lobbying for a slot.  There's going to be a pile of 2 loss teams at the end of the year.

I'd like Fiesta more than anything, but Alamo would be fun.  I've been to Dallas before.  JerryWorld is cool but Dallas is pretty meh.

Its nice to know that we are on top of things: http://www.kansas.com/2011/11/15/2103814/kansas-state-football-an-enticing.html

Quote
"I am sitting here looking at a slick, four-color brochure made specifically for the AT&T Cotton Bowl," said Cotton Bowl President Rick Baker. "It says, 'K-State fans are ready to pack Arlington with purple,' and has statistics on how well K-State travels and how the team is doing.

"It's as slick a piece as you're ever going to want to see. I've never received one during the season like this. It just goes to show how forward-thinking and aggressive they are right now."

You messed 1 thing up, Wisconsin already has 2 losses...so here is how it shakes out with that fact.

Change Rose Bowl: Oregon vs. Wisky or Michigan St. (The loser of the their CCG is not getting a BCS with 3 losses)
Change Fiesta to some combo of: OU/KSU vs. Stanford vs. Michigan/Nebraska winner (the winner of this game will have 2 losses and a very good shot at being in the required BCS top 14)

I'm projecting Wisconsin as the Big 10 winner.  Good point on Nebraska or Michigan being possibilities.  K-State vs. Nebraska in the Fiesta Bowl?  :sdeek:  Of course they would MUCH rather take OU in that scenario.  Better hope Nebraska loses again.

Look, between the SEC, Pac 12, Big 12, Big 10, and ACC, only 3 of them are going to get an at-large bid. And is anyone here seriously suggesting that the Big 12 will get left out? How many teams does each conference have in the current BCS Top 15?
- SEC: 5
- Big 12: 3
- Pac 12: 2
- ACC: 2
- Big 10: 1 (MSU at number 15)

The Big 12 and SEC are definitely getting at-large bids.

Even if the Nubbs win out, there is no way in hell they sneak into a BCS at-large spot with 2 losses (including Northwestern at home?!) and without even winning their division.

4 color process.  CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black)  It's standard process in mass printing.

From KC Star:

Added Fiesta Bowl spokesperson Kristen Pflipsen: “We are still considering K-State for the Fiesta Bowl. A lot of things would have to happen for that to become reality. But that is not out of the question. We’ve always had a really positive experience with the Wildcats.”

So, in other words, K-State needs to win out, and OU needs to lose 2 more. That's fine, I'll take the Cotton Bowl.

Everyone needs to root for Michigan this weekend just to ensure they stay the eff out.

A 10-2 NU team that's got even a remotely legitimate claim to a BCS invite could get it due to the 85,000 tickets they'd buy at $500 a pop.

yeah, we wouldn't have a prayer if it came down to us v. nu.  If OU and NU are both eligible by BCS rules they are going.

Then, by that logic, wouldn't Michigan be in just as good a position to snag an at-large if they beat NU? The Big 10 is not going to get 2 teams into the BCS this year. Not going to happen. There isn't any room for them. The SEC gets a bid. So will the Big 12. So will Houson or some other underserving non-AQ team. You're basically saying NU or Michigan would go instead of Stanford?

Not necessarily.  It would help, but it's not necessarily the case.

If OSU just lays the hammer down on OU and beats them by three or four TD's, they could drop like a rock at the wrong time.
