No one knew how bad Oregon was at the time so the meltdown was subdued.  Also was a late Sunday night tip. What about losing to Iowa in Vegas? That team was about as bad as Oregon.

oh man, that Iowa loss.  woof.

what a strech

11/28/2008*   11:00 PM   vs. Kentucky L 72–74
11/29/2008*   6:30 PM   vs. Iowa   L 63–65
12/07/2008*   7:30 PM   at Oregon  L 70–75

Those Iowa and Oregon losses were dogshit horrible at the time and were worse as the season progressed, the reason why we played in the NIT.  I watched Iowa get pounded by WVU and then proceeded to put a large sum of cash on K-State at the Caesars sportsbook.  The last bet I made.

BTW, Frank didn't get into trouble at the Oregon for asking Jake "what the eff are you doing?" The line that got him was "you're the most selfish [redacted] I've ever coached.". Oregon was 8-23 that season.

Oregon had like 2 or 3 4-stars and couple more top 100s, did not seem that bad at the time.

That whole stretch coupled with our 0-4 start to the conf was the low point of the FM era (hopefully  :crossfingers:)

Iowa State at home in 2009 (IIRC) was bad.  So was getting swept by Colorado last year.

Those were tough times for the Q@ fan. Shitty bball combined with shitty fball and then "It's Patterson". Then we hired Bill again. Very tough times full of uncertainty and agony

seems like the Presby moral loss should be on the op's list instead of X

i placed more value on actual losses than moral losses.  but your criteria could differ and still be reasonable.

At the time of the loss the ISU game might have topped the list but it really didn't mean a damn thing.  It didn't cost us a seed or being able to play in OKC which was most important.

Iowa St. loss was completely vindicated by Pete and JHGD's performance off the court.  No way that makes top 5 most disappointing.

Really 2  D1 teams . . . sure they were bad losses, but come on sys, that's quite a b-ball only fan reach there.

Sad . . .

So you think a close win is worse than a L?

It's okay, we all know this is the time of the year that goEMAW starts orbiting more towards it true tuck self.   No need to work it so hard, it's early.

If we included the Huggs year, that game at Cal would be top of the list.  Luis throwin' punches.

The Colorado losses sucked and all, but they weren't top 5 losses by any means. Colorado deserved an at-large NCAA bid last year.
