No deer though?
I bumped this one from the CRP and it ran into the middle of the pasture and just mean mugged me for about 10 minutes not moving. They knew I only had some bird shot and it wanted to assert it's dominance.

I gave you one job, bro

Wild bird numbers near Great Bend were was good as I've seen in about 5 years.  Ran into a metric buttload of quail.

They were much better out in NWKS. I got 6 pheasants over 3 days just 1 man and 1 dog that can only hunt 2-3 hours a day, plus couldn't travel to many of my honey holes due to all the rain we got (2.5 inches at the cat ranch!).

The weirdest thing I saw was I flushed 3 hens that were only a couple of months old within a couple of minutes, almost looked like ducks they were so small. They could barely fly for more than 50 yards. I'm guessing the warm temps have helped, still tons of leaves on the tree's and lots of grasshoppers still moving around.

It's not gun season for deer in Kansas yet, next time I'll just sling a bow over my back with some exploding Rambo tips just so I can make you happy.

That's awesome. Can't believe it is already late enough in the fall for pheasant season. It has been 10+ years since I've done any pheasant hunting in Kansas.

Sometime between 8-10pm tonight my mutts killed a rough ridin' rat in my backyard and brought it into the garage to show me. This is north OP/PV area.

This is actually the 2nd rat they have killed, last one was 2-3 years ago. A nice addition to all the rabbits/squirrels/chipmunks/possums/mice etc they normally bring me.
