seems like a good OU disaster update thread.

Okie fans have it all figured out now -- from the comments to that article:

It's not just our program. It's basketball in general. A game that has been taken over by gang bangers, posse's, and thugs. This comes from a former gym rat who you couldn't pry out of the gym. The game has changed......and not for the better.

soonerbeach, Wichita
Go out and recruit players like Northern Iowa, Cornell, and St Marys and all this garbage won't happen.

tulsandn, out in the woods
lovethemsooners is right, I used to play at several different gyms & outdoor courts in Denver during the 80's & then throughout Tulsa in the 90's....

Over the last few year's I've noticed that those places are not "open" to everyone anymore....

OU, Kansas, Texas are examples of punks who have no knowledge of the game except for "I'm gonna get MY shot & MY points playing MY game...."

It's so sad to see BUT when you see TEAMS playing the GAME right, it's great.... Northern Iowa, St. Mary's, Cornell, Butler.... I wonder what they all have in common ????

where did you hear that fitz is leaving (or being kicked out, whatever)?  that's new to me.

i think gallon probably returns, unless something additional comes out.

Dean Blevins on OKC sports radio this afternoon.  ran down that list that i wrote a few posts up.  Said that Fitzgerald isn't happy in norman, will transfer.

Warren and Gallon are being told to GTFO by Capel (not renewing their scholarships) because of this whole $$$ scandal.  Grumblings that it's going to trace back to OU and crap will hit the fan.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

I hate that show... really despise everything it stands for.

But if TMZ and other tabloid shows get involved in College athletics, they could turn it upside down. If it turns out there is an interested audience for this sort of reporting, I bet they run with it.

This could be bad news for Doug Compton.

tmz should probably just establish a permanent office in lawrence.  and obviously, norman.

Wow. What's terrifying is that half of our fanbase (at least) would react the same way if there was ever a hint of a scandal. On the bright side, we would finally be able to say--without a doubt--that the lynch mob was back.
"How will I recruit to Manhattan? Well, distance. And the proud state of basketball. It start there, and then daily flights to Dallas, because I'm really good at going out. Like top five good. Ask my wife. She wants me to be happy."

Hilarious reactions down here.  It's football season now, the basketball team doesn't exist.  I literally listened to OKC sports radio all day today, and there wasn't even one mention of OU hoops.
