Gallon -- a freshman center for the Sooners - scored a $3,000 wire transfer last August, according to a document obtained by TMZ. The money was deposited in a bank account jointly held by Keith and his mom, Sylvia Wright.

We could not reach Keith. His mom had no comment. We called Hausinger for comment about the $3,000 wire transfer -- he said, "I don't think I want to talk to you," and hung up.

But if TMZ and other tabloid shows get involved in College athletics, they could turn it upside down. If it turns out there is an interested audience for this sort of reporting, I bet they run with it.

Well, they're in a good spot because they don't care about access to players and coaches.  No sports beat writer is going to risk their relationship (with all coaches) to expose a story like this.  (Our resident beat writers can feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.)  This story is probably linked on every board that follows college basketball in the country, so it could be somewhat lucrative for TMZ.

i just think that warren was part of a really good team.  and other than rough ridin' the ugly pg's gf, seemed to do fine on that team.  and then tmg came along and the team sucked complete ass while tmg sat out front and never played defense and monopolized the ball despite sharing the court with some really talented offensive players.  plus warren was hurt/sick.  so, looking at it from the outside, i'd blame tmg over warren.

I don't hate Capel.

But this season for him is probably what everyone expected to happen to Frank after Beasley, but instead of his team imploding, Frank's team got better.  And Capel was the hot hire with the pedigree to be succussful.  I just think its funny.

Absolutely no way that Warren is on the squad next year, whether he leaves or he isn't welcomed back.  I know some insidery types, and Willie showed up to several practices wearing street clothes and told the coaching staff that he didn't need to practice.

It's not just our program. It's basketball in general. A game that has been taken over by gang bangers, posse's, and thugs. This comes from a former gym rat who you couldn't pry out of the gym. The game has changed......and not for the better.

Go out and recruit players like Northern Iowa, Cornell, and St Marys and all this garbage won't happen.

lovethemsooners is right, I used to play at several different gyms & outdoor courts in Denver during the 80's & then throughout Tulsa in the 90's....

Over the last few year's I've noticed that those places are not "open" to everyone anymore....

OU, Kansas, Texas are examples of punks who have no knowledge of the game except for "I'm gonna get MY shot & MY points playing MY game...."

It's so sad to see BUT when you see TEAMS playing the GAME right, it's great.... Northern Iowa, St. Mary's, Cornell, Butler.... I wonder what they all have in common ????

Warren and Gallon are being told to GTFO by Capel (not renewing their scholarships) because of this whole $$$ scandal.  Grumblings that it's going to trace back to OU and crap will hit the fan.

Hilarious reactions down here.  It's football season now, the basketball team doesn't exist.  I literally listened to OKC sports radio all day today, and there wasn't even one mention of OU hoops.

it's really turning into a sad situation down there.

even so, if they retain gallon and the two tx recruits matriculate according to plan, they'll have some solid young players in the program.

Three years ago, I could have sworn that Capel was building a monster.  Sadly, I still think that the odds are that they'll be in better shape than us in 5 years (even without the Big 12-end-of-days scenario).

So they've just lost all of their marquee players at once, we are out recruiting them for Canadian Juco's, and they are still probably under investigation...   :pbj:

doherty, dougherty; smu, tcu; ku, ku; unc, duke.  it's very confusing, and should be legislated.

Getting VERY messy in Norman. My guess is that Capel is gone after this season...

LOL @ the transfer of Osby being the only good thing that has happened to Sooner Basketball in the past year.

OU, in general, has been bad about it.  OU/Bomar got caught too.  I bet Switzer and Tubbs are fracking ashamed to see OU get caught.

Seems like they're pretty good at it actually.  Until the NCAA does anything to punish these rogue programs (OU, USC, KU) there is absolutely nothing wrong with ignoring the rules.

True.  But I mean bad as in getting caught.  I'm sure a lot of other programs do what happened under Sampson and what happened now, but are much better at not getting caught.

why are people assuming that ou did something wrong?  they don't benefit from gallon accepting money from an agent.  and they certainly wouldn't be funneling money through one (no one is that Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!).  "hey tiny, i see you daily and can slip you untraceable cash at any time, but instead i'm going to have some random agent who openly tweets about flying to norman to talk with college athletes wire some money to your account, 'kay?  'kay.").

what obviously happened is that gallon took some money from the dude, and when the asst coach (or the whole staff) somehow found out about it, they tried to manage the situ privately rather than immediately report it.  bfd.

and ou would have fired capel this year if they were going to fire him.  he has at least 2 more years, and will judged on on the court success.

Whoa, if drafted, Tiny's going to be this year's guy who comes barreling out of the stands to go on stage.

Quote
The big forward decided to try convincing NBA general managers he is worth drafting come Thursday night.

"That's one thing about me is I'm very mentally strong. Whatever God puts in my way, I'm ready to do," Gallon said in a telephone interview. "When the situation had happened at Oklahoma and I didn't know I was coming out, I just told myself I'm going to be ready for it."

Gallon expects to hear his name called during the draft and fulfill a dream that he didn't start pursuing until late in high school. He decided over the weekend to attend the draft in New York. He'll be wearing a brand-new suit and is looking forward to shaking commissioner David Stern's hand when he gets picked.
