Gene hired the right coach. They have improved every week in conference play. KU isn't an easy place to play.

Perhaps, but God damn, that was a pisser. Should've won set 2 and left the court after 4.

Get the split and we're still okay, losing tomorrow is going to make a tournament appearance real tough. Gonna need to win either tomorrow or against Texas on Wednesday along with sweeping tech next weekend.

I feel like such a schmuck for my early season Izzi take, Mansfield's fault.

We have a very manageable last three games, if we win them all, were in the tournament.

Not a bunch, no. Only one starter is completely out of eligibility, Bolding and she's really good. A couple of others are dependant upon whether or not they want to take their covid year. I'm guessing the only transfers we'll have are ones that the coaches ask to leave. If they didn't leave after last season, they certainly aren't now, unless they're asked to.

No, Houston is a tournament lock and will be a 6 seed at absolute worst. You'd have to think another top 25 RPI win, especially one on the road, puts us in. A loss and we're on the bubble, hoping the committee ignores our home/road splits.

The Houston match, on Saturday afternoon, is massive

We're receiving votes in the coaches' poll, so unless we get absolutely crushed by Houston, one would think we'd be stable with respect to RPI and those votes next week (and, the RPI could even go up a bit even if we lose since Houston is #27).

With the number of quality wins we have, it would be surprising to me if we don't make it even with a loss this weekend.

Volleytalk's bracketology nerd has us as one of the last 7 teams in and playing at Creighton in the 1st/2nd rounds. It helps us that there are three teams that are close by (Creighton, KU, Nebraska) within driving distance. They have us as an unofficial #3 seed in our pod and playing Penn State in the first round. That would be a rematch of the NCAA Tourney Sweet 16 matchup from 2003 when Suzie had her best team ever (we lost).

They also have these teams as the last batch left out, so we should all root for them to lose this weekend: Loyola-Chicago, Stephen F. Austin, NC State, Loyola Marymount, Drake, UCLA

Really shat the bed in sets 3 & 4 after coulda/shoulda/woulda won set 2 .

We'll see what happens tomorrow, but there can't be many cases where a team with three top 10 wins in a season doesn't make the tourney.
