Broadway shows are wicked good.  Especially musicals.  Seriously.

I have worn a sport coat the times I have gone.  you see people wearing everything from jeans to black tie though.  the later in the evening the show the more formal.  People have been more formal at the shows I've been to in Omaha but it's probably just because the locals don't get to do crap like that very often.

That will probably be a tough sell with the girlfriend, but it's worth a try.

I've been meaning to say, for anyone heading to NYC without a crap ton of hotel points or those who are just looking for something a little less touristy, I can't recommend this place highly enough. It's probably the best value in Manhattan.

http://sanctuaryguestsuites.com/sanctuary-stanton/

It's run by some Hare Krishnas, but they're not in your face about it or anything. You get a ton of space, a full kitchen, a patio and a great location with all the bars and restaurants in the LES.

Upright Citizen's Brigade?

My brother went there when he was in NYC in March. Rafi from The League was partaking in the improv. Amy Poehler shows up on some Sundays apparently.

I'm going at the end of June. List the food I should eat. I don't care what it is, as long as it's delicious. Five star, food cart, whatever.

Guy on GPC asks if he, a white midwesterner of high values, will survive visit to The Bronx/Yankee Stadium.  Other's speculate chances about 50/50.

Catch public transportation if you can. Driving thru the Bronx sucks.

I'm taking the train from NJ to Penn st, then the subway up to the Bronx. I have been riding the subway, in the day light, for the last 2 days. Just wondering about the bronx.

You're wearing the opposing team's jersey leaving the Bronx at night...what could go wrong?

You should be fine. Most people would recommend not spending any time in the surrounding neighborhood (you won't be missing anything). Ride the subway to the stadium, go into the stadium. Leave the stadium, go to the subway.
