I could care less that he wasn't fast enough to outrun Miami's secondary a couple of times; he ran the ball hard, got vertical into creases, and made plays consistently tonight. That's really all I can ask for from a back; he gave us what we needed to compliment Klein and we got a nice win.

I agree with all of this. I would disagree with the guy on the first page that said DThomas would have made those runs into touchdowns he is big and shifty and all but I bet he would've produced similarly to Hubert against that speed

FWIW, I don't think he's Marvin Simmons. Hard to find a comparison, but I'd probably say Daniel Davis is closer.

I do not advocate giving up on him either. If he's doing the things he needs to do off the field and in practice, give him opportunities, but he deserves no special treatment based on talent and potential.

I do think he'll be a good player for K-State eventually, maybe a great one.

The "Best that never was" had to do some great things in college to even get that designation.  Bryce has a lot of work to do to even get to that point.

Hubert scored his first college TD today.  He averaged 9.2 ypc on 18 carries  AT THE U.  He's still the guy that broke LT's records.  Can't see how anyone can conclude that this is his "max potential."

And if this is his "max potential," then his "max potential" is pretty damn good.

I would have gone with completely transparent Kleiny Coff Keaper before attempting to run Rose in there with the game on the line.

Marvin's other issue was that he was one of, if not the most, intellectually challenged people I ran into at K-State.

Bryce obviously doesn't have it together for pass protection.  So maybe they should have handed the ball to him and let him do what he does best instead of have him do what he does worst.

Yes. Hubert doesn't have great top-end speed, but he does have nice acceleration. He was able to blow past Miami's linebackers on those long runs, and the secondary caught him because they're fast and they took the right angles, which is something we're not used to seeing around here for the last couple of years.

If he's still starting when we play KU, he'll probably have 3 40+ yard touchdown runs.

The only two plays I remember Bryce being in the game were the one where he whiffed on a block, allowing a sack, and the one where he didn't even look for a check down pass. Maybe if Bryce would play better when he gets on the field, he would play more.
