Great dogs, maybe more high energy than you want but probably not much different than a lab.  There are viszla rescue groups in about every state.

They're great if you have the outdoor space to let them run.

Vizslas are pretty sweet looking dogs.  I also like weimaraners (sp?) but I would feel like some pompous douche pronouncing their name correctly.  Like one of those people who always overpronunciates spanish words.

Sent my mom a link to the PALs rescue site so she could look at a couple dogs I am considering.  Guess she is now going to adopt a little dachshund puppy she saw on the site.  She just loves those little things.

Looking for a dog. Thinking about adopting but want a young one, nothing more than 6 months or so. Looking for something similar to a lab in size, been looking at coon hounds or Vizlas or something around there. Dont need a hunting dog but do have some land that i could take it to so It could chase rabbits etc.

I would keep it in the backyard while at work. Would also like to take it on runs, nothign to crazy though.

Ideas?

I have a rhodesian ridgeback. Get one of those.

So, we rescued a dog and were told he was a yellow lab / golden retriever mix (pretty much looks like a smallish lab). After looking up rhodesian ridgebacks, however, I think he might have some of that in him. Looks almost identical in the face. Hmmm.

It's possible. Our dog is half ridgeback, half mutt. He has some basset hound, pit, and something else in him. His ridge is only present when he gets excited or on the hunt.

Yeah, same with ours, so I bet he is part RR. He looks like Red XIII when he gets amped up.

I would get a short haired dog and hook him up with a bitchin house to stay warm in the winter. Putting a long or even medium length haired dog outside during the summer is cruel imo. I'm assuming you don't live in a cold state.

Live in KC. Been looking at Rhodesian Ridgebacks but apparently they are about $1,000 and I dont feel like spending alot of money on an animal. Dont need a purebreed or anything as I have no desire to show or breed them. Would love a Ridgeback lab mix.

Stumble upon a rhodesian ridgeback lab mutt like I apparently did. He's hilarious and awesome.

One of my pugs gets ear infections on the regular.  The vet usually gives her some steroid pills and two tubes of ointment.  One tube is for the current infection and I put a little of the other tube in her ears every week or so in hopes of warding off another infection.  I have to take her to the vet like every three months or so though.

How great are Golden Retrievers?  Better than your dog, that's for sure.  Unless, of course you have a Golden Retriever too, then your dog is probably pretty great.
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.
