Tater inspecting pasture post burn.  Tried to intro him to the cows, but he got about as close as I did to girls at my first junior high dance.

I love your dog's expression here. "Don't worry, I've got everything totally in control here."

Paying tribute to the my boy Barley. He’s been a better friend than could be asked of him. Always kind. Never once has he barked in anger, or shown any aggression. Never met a stranger, only friends.

His driving days will be over Friday afternoon. I’m gonna miss you, bar.

Above: Barley enjoying the wet grass this morning.

Update: Bar has a tumor on his stomach that pushes on his right lung causing shortness of breath and some coughing. It also causes a reluctance to eat.

Fortunately, both of these symptoms are currently manageable thru prescription pain med Rimadyl. He remains happy-go-lucky as long as he takes them regularly.

He’s still got too much love to give and we’re cancelling/postponing the euthanasia until he shows signs that he isn’t enjoying life any longer.

Vet says he could be ok as long a few months, but could go at anytime. You never know.

If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

A very good boy (Hubble) wondering how long until Mrs. 8mp gets back. He likes me, he’s attached to her.

our 2 yr old lab/pyrenees mix has what we believe is Kennell Cough. She spent two days at doggy daycare last week. Started hacking a lung every so often last night. I came home from work to find multiple throw ups on the hardwood and random small spit ups all over. Feel so bad for her. It sounds so awful and painful

does your doggy daycare not require your dog to be up to date on the bordetella shot?

Thanks guys. Thankful that we got another month with him while we knew time was short. We had to let him go last thursday. Working on moving past missing and toward reminiscing.

Does your dog ever act strange after the exterminator comes? Our pup has been following us around more closely than usual and furiously licking his paws since the exterminator came last week. Just washed out his food area and dishes in case some spray drifted into his food bowl.

This pup turns 10 years old this month. She has aged very gracefully. She's starting to slow down a little on walks but for the most part she looks and acts the same as the day we got her (as a rescue at age 3ish).
