Sorry to hear Dax.  Pets are part of my family and it's awful to see them go.  Better to make this awful decision then let them suffer a day too long.

Thanks and I agree.

yep, that sucks, very sorry sodj.  it comes with the territory though and all pets go to heaven so she'll be up there waiting.

Sorry to hear it, Dax. Our childhood pup, a golden, died on his own under a shade tree while the vet was on the way. He used to lay by our backdoor and look out at the pasture while dug a proper grave for him. Was tough, but I was glad he went on his own. Happened again many years later with a giant yellow lab. Maybe we wait too long?

Anyway thoughts and prayers. I hope you and yours heal soon.

Her name is Yoshi.  We currently call that on her face a white "spade," but it does look like a silhouette if you follow it all the way down.  She is pretty adorable, so she gets away with more than she should.

Stella hasn't been on a run in 6 days (I have a cold). Look at the despair in her eyes.

Payton's still working the #longbone.  She's chewed it down enough that she can move it around a bit herself.

Yeah, it does.  But she'll probably chew one off eventually.

My prospective dog sitter for schemePAK flaked so I probably have to pay someone/thing.  Here's the prospective hotel-ish places:

http://www.barkinglounge.com/dog-boarding-kennel
http://www.citydogclub.com/services/dog-boarding.html
http://www.downtowndoglounge.com/pet-boarding.htm
http://www.woofplayandstayseattle.com/services.html

Then there's this thing that has people that'll put the dogs up in their own place.

What's better?  That last option would have her in the situation closest to normal and I assume she'd have way more attention paid to her than at a place hosting dozens of dogs, but who tf are these people that I'd be leaving her with?

Bring her.

No direct flight.  I'm skeptical of bringing her even once there are directs.

When I was shopping for a relatively portable crate that could be folded up and used just for things around town, I'd hoped to find one that would also be acceptable for flights.  The shop lady told me for flights that it has to be a hard case and to just buy one off craigslist when the time came, as people buy them for a single-use situation and then sell them off.  Then as we were talking about dogs on flights in general, she recommended some potion I can't remember the name of that she said was like liquid weed for dogs.

I take mine to a hotelish place. They will probably want a trial/interview, so maybe just do that and see how she responds.

If you got the right person, a person would be better. But getting the right person might be tricky so you are going to get more consistent results choosing a hotel. Also, once you chose one, you should stick with the same place (unless it is terrible) so she gets used to the place and people for future trips.

don't bring your dog on a flight, they stow them in cargo and it isn't good
