I'm not 100% that the first-time thing was related to the nipping thing.  It might've been that they thought Corky was difficult generally AND wouldn't be good for bars and stuff.

I keep looking at Callie.  I really like that color pattern and the stripe on the face like Dina had.  So long as they come back quick and say she's matching the texas people's description, or better, that's the one I want.

Just wanted to post here because last week my roomie let his dog out to go the bathroom around midnight and then a pup happened to follow him back up to our apartment. Had a harness but no tag. Put a few post on Craigslist, and rightfully got him to his owners the following evening. Turns out his name was Scout.

Good pup, around 4 months old. Made me want to get my own dog so much!

Boss move getting Scout home.  Did they say what his mix is?  Looks really interesting.

It's really just what I wanted. There's things you can do to get her fired up, real athletic for any sort of activity I could possibly want to do, but completely chill otherwise. At least that was the experience over a couple hours at the lady's house and at the bar.

I'd wanted one with stripes or spots or some distinguishing characteristics but having all those behaviors on point is too good to pass up. Her distinguishment is being weird looking and incapable of having her breeds figured out.

I think I pick her up Friday.

What exactly goes into that (dogs on flights)?

I'm not too sure. I think it's about $100 to stick them with the luggage, not sure if you have to buy the special crate. My flight from Denver to mci last week had a dog that size on it inside the cabin but it had all the therapy dog crap on it.

Find me stuff to buy in advance to spoil her with.

I've got a disproportionately big balcony, and I often leave the door open when I'm home.  The railing is adequately sized for keeping her from falling off, so I'll be fine w/her roaming around out there.  Should I, and assuming so, how will I train her that the balcony version of outside isn't the bathroom version of outside?  Or should I get some leftover shitty BSFS turf and make a corner of the balcony be "grass" that she can do whatever she wants in.

There are "grass" pads made specially for that. But also I don't think you'll have much trouble, dogs are pretty smart about where they are supposed to poop, much better than children.

Her head is proportionally smaller than the body, so the human said there were some special collars/harnesses that work better.  Found a Sonics tag though.  https://sportsfanimals.com/collections/nba-seattle-supersonics-dog/products/seattle-supersonics-dog-instant-id-tag

I've got plenty of leftover tennis balls.  I use new ones for actual tennis myself every time.

The human will get me the instructions on feeding.  It was hard for her to break down exactly when and how much b/c she feeds all her dogs together, but she's gonna work something up for me by Friday.

This came up as a related item on one of your links, and I'll need something, but I think the 2nd one will be more useful for what I'd be doing, and I could use it to get her around on the light rail and then fold it up and stuff it in a backpack.

We started feeding our dogs Blue Buffalo dog food instead of Purina One.  We noticed a lot less shedding and they seemed to digest the food better.  You can order it off of Amazon and the price is about the same as what I have seen at pet stores.  We are also feeding them a supplement called Dino-vite.  The jury is still out on that whether it is worth it or not.

I would get dog tennis balls over regular tennis balls. They are thicker rubber, probably sqeek, and last a lot longer. I started getting the size above tennis ball (slightly smaller than a softball) and that crap has lasted for 4 months instead of the 2 weeks a normal tennis ball lasts.
